The centre's location outside of a busy city centre often means easier parking and a less stressful experience for both pet and owner, which is a significant consideration when your pet is unwell. This thoughtful placement demonstrates an understanding of the practicalities involved in transporting a pet, especially one requiring specialist care.
The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre provides a highly specialised range of services, all geared towards the effective diagnosis and treatment of feline hyperthyroidism. Their focus allows for a depth of expertise not typically found in general veterinary practices.
Radioactive Iodine (I-131) Therapy: This is the cornerstone of their treatment offerings. Radioactive iodine therapy is widely considered the safest and most effective cure for feline hyperthyroidism, often leading to a complete and permanent resolution of the condition. The centre is specifically equipped and licensed to administer this highly specialised treatment.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Services: While their primary focus is treatment, the centre also offers thorough diagnostic evaluations for cats suspected of having hyperthyroidism. This includes blood tests to measure thyroid hormone levels and other relevant markers, ensuring an accurate diagnosis before treatment commences.
Pre-Treatment Consultation and Assessment: Before any treatment begins, a detailed consultation is conducted to assess the cat's overall health, review their medical history, and discuss the treatment process in detail with the owner. This ensures that the treatment plan is tailored to the individual needs of each feline patient.
Post-Treatment Care and Monitoring: The centre provides clear guidance and support for post-treatment care, including advice on monitoring your cat's recovery and scheduling follow-up appointments to ensure the treatment has been successful and to monitor thyroid levels. This comprehensive approach ensures long-term well-being.
Specialised Cat-Friendly Environment: Understanding the unique needs of felines, especially when undergoing treatment, the centre is designed to be a calm, quiet, and stress-reducing environment for cats. This includes dedicated recovery areas where cats can rest comfortably after their treatment.
The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights, making it a preferred choice for cat owners seeking expert care for hyperthyroidism.
Exclusive Specialisation in Feline Hyperthyroidism: Unlike general practices, their singular focus means unparalleled expertise and equipment dedicated solely to this condition. This specialisation translates directly into higher success rates and more refined treatment protocols.
Highly Experienced Veterinary Team: The staff at the Hyperthyroid Cat Centre comprises veterinarians and veterinary nurses with extensive experience and training in feline internal medicine, particularly hyperthyroidism. Their collective knowledge ensures the best possible outcomes for their patients.

May 11, 2025 · Frances CopelandMy cat, Binx, went in for a two week stay and staff were so helpful and lovely. From updates everyday to always answering any questions I have. They treat Binx as if she was one of their own, which of course put my mind more at ease with her being away from home. I’m also ecstatic to say she’s cured!!! Couldn’t believe it when I went to pick her up, I was able to see a difference immediately from before the treatment. Would so highly recommend this centre and thank you again to all of the fabulous staff, couldn’t ask for better.
Jul 01, 2025 · Jessica JohnstoneFrom start to finish the HCC provided an exemplary service and I would not hesitate in recommending them. Our cat is now ten weeks post RI treatment and she is doing really well: eating, playing, putting on weight and a lot more happy - and we are happier too as we don't have to worry about Hyperthyroidism affecting her health. Thank you to all the staff at the centre - you could not do what you do any better.

While he was in they kept us updated, even sending some pictures so we knew he was comfortable! The treatment cured his condition and he's been doing fine ever since. The post care has been fantastic as well with them happy to answer any questions we had and help with any follow up treatment even months later! Apr 22, 2025 · Philip D'AmbrogioUnbelievable care, fantastic result. If you have a cat with a problematic thyroid, don’t hesitate get them to this place. We took a struggling poorly cat there two weeks ago. She was in poor condition, tearing her fur out through over grooming and just in a mess. Now she is so much better. We’ve had the call to say her condition is cured and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve got our old cat back. No more daily drug regime and no anxiety. Her future looks great. Thanks so much to the whole team at the HCC, they were just perfect. It was so weird leaving her behind but she was in amazing hands. The help and guidance through the whole process was amazing and the daily communication was exemplary.5 stars is simply not enough.
