Westwood Veterinary Practice Reviews
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the service I received this afternoon. I contacted Westwood to see whether it would be possible to obtain a repeat of the eye drops previously prescribed to my cat earlier this year, as she was presenting with the exact same symptoms of conjunctivitis. I made it clear that she does not travel well and that a visit would cause her considerable stress, so I was hoping for a solution that would avoid unnecessary distress.Despite explaining the situation, I was informed that a consultation was necessary in order to issue the same eye drops. While I accepted this requirement, I was charged £111 to confirm what I had already described over the phone, that my cat has conjunctivitis and needs the same medication as before. To add to the frustration, I have since found the identical eye drops available online without a prescription, and at a significantly lower cost, nearly £35 less than what I was charged by Westwood. This experience shows little regard for the welfare of my cat, who is now highly distressed and unwell after a stressful journey that could have been avoided.I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider whether your current protocols truly support the best interests of the animals in your care.
Jun 24, 2025 · Gemma HeronWhat a lovely little vets practice. I recently swapped to Westwood after moving away from my previous area where I had used the same vet for ever. This lovely vet couldn’t have been more welcoming. They did a full assessment on my little old dog with no feeling of being rushed, and everything was explained. I am so glad I have made the move to Westwood
Mar 29, 2025 · TraceySmall but very efficient vets offering health plans for your fur children as well as pay as you go and emergency services.Staff are kind, friendly and knowledgeable and service was great. They have their own car park but there is also street parking and a car park nearby.
Mar 11, 2025 · Adam CresserHe went for a checkup and very emotional to find that he had lost some teeth. The vet was super friendly and WONDERFUL and the receptionist carried him to the taxi. Thank you so very much. GOD bless you all 🥰🏴🇯🇲♥️✝️
Feb 05, 2025 · Jacqueline and RoyWe had an appointment at the end of the day and things were running a little late. I'm OK with that.....The consultation took no more than ten minutes and cost £49.20. You know what, I'm OK with that too.....What I'm not OK with is being sold two products for £84.50 that I can actually purchase the exact same on line for less than £20.00.A basic eyedrops and an Isaderm Gel.If Westwood Veterinary Practice were buying them from one of the many number of places I have found on the internet, they are marking the items up by 325%. Clearly they aren't buying the items at internet retail prices, they will buy much cheaper, so the actual mark up must be an incredible amount. To me this is profiteering on the customers love for their pets.A quick Google would indicate Westwood Vets are not alone. With unregulated inflated prices like these I imagine many pets go without being seen and suffer for longer. How can this be? How is this allowed? Is it Pets or Profit first?Just for context - The appointment was for a rabbit with conjunctivitis in one eye. £135.
