Blythman & Partners - Westerhope Introduce
For pet owners in England, particularly those residing in Newcastle upon Tyne and the wider Tyne and Wear area, choosing a veterinary practice is a decision rooted in trust, expertise, and compassionate care. Blythman & Partners - Westerhope stands as a testament to these values, offering a long-standing tradition of excellence in animal healthcare. As part of a larger, well-established group with a history spanning over 100 years, the Westerhope branch provides localised, personal service backed by the extensive resources of a leading regional practice.
Blythman & Partners has built its stellar reputation on a foundation of genuine care for "our dogs, cats, and smaller beings," as one heartfelt review expresses. They understand that pets are cherished family members, and their dedicated team strives to provide the highest standard of medical attention while ensuring comfort and support for both animals and their owners. This commitment is evident in the compassionate handling of difficult moments, such as saying "goodbye to our precious Muffin," where the staff, like Felicity, are praised for being "wonderful with both Muffin and us."
The practice offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, catering to a diverse array of animals, though their Westerhope branch primarily focuses on small animals. Their extensive network includes a 24-hour emergency hospital at their Gosforth branch, providing crucial peace of mind for clients knowing that urgent care is always accessible. With a team of experienced vets and nurses, many of whom have been with the practice for years, Blythman & Partners - Westerhope continues to be a go-to choice for generations of pet owners in the North East, some having trusted them with their beloved companions for over 45 years.
Blythman & Partners - Westerhope is conveniently located at 74 Downend Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE5 5NH, UK. This address places the practice within the residential area of Westerhope, a well-established suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne. For local residents, the location offers ease of access, situated on a recognisable road that is typically well-connected within the local network.
Downend Road provides straightforward access for those travelling by car, and it's common for local veterinary practices in residential areas to offer on-site parking or readily available street parking. This is a significant convenience for pet owners, especially when transporting an unwell or anxious animal, as it minimises stress associated with parking difficulties often encountered in more congested city centres. The NE5 5NH postcode is accurate for navigation systems, ensuring that clients can easily find their way to the surgery.
While Westerhope is a suburban area, public transport links in Newcastle upon Tyne are generally efficient, with bus routes likely serving the vicinity of Downend Road. This ensures that clients who rely on public transport can also access the clinic with relative ease. The branch also benefits from being part of a larger group with a 24-hour hospital in Gosforth, offering seamless transfer for any critical care or overnight hospitalisation needs, ensuring comprehensive accessibility to services whenever required.

Jun 03, 2025 路 peter matfinStaff at this practice are attentive, well informed and very caring. They have given the best possible care for our dog Freya and have pulled her through some serious health complaints on a number of occasions. I cannot recommend this practice any more. Thank you for your support and help.
Oct 31, 2024 路 Catherine ArmstrongSame-day appointment when Rufus the labrador split his dew claw. Receptionist and vetenary nurse both super friendly and reassuring. The nail was cut back without need for sedation and the nurse praised Rufus for being a 'star' and not flinching, but I think the praise is due to the nurse who put Rufus at ease and made him feel safe. Then treats for Rufus for being a good boy!! Very happy with the service at our local vets. When your dog is in pain, it's exactly what you need.
