These endorsements underscore the clinic’s reputation for professionalism, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to both patient and owner well-being.
Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group – Ponteland is conveniently located at Dobbies Garden Centre Street, House Farm, Newcastle upon Tyne NE20 9BT, UK. This unique and easily identifiable location within a popular garden centre offers several practical advantages for pet owners across Northumberland and the surrounding areas. Ponteland itself is a desirable village and civil parish situated northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne, known for its rural charm and excellent connectivity.
The clinic’s position within the Dobbies Garden Centre complex provides superb accessibility. Garden centres typically offer ample, free parking facilities, which is a significant convenience for clients arriving with pets, whether it’s a nervous cat in a carrier or a larger dog. This eliminates the stress of searching for parking, making visits much smoother. The location also means easy access from major roads, including the A696 and close proximity to Newcastle Airport, which serves as a landmark for navigation. This strategic placement ensures that pet owners from Ponteland, Darras Hall, Stamfordham, and even those travelling from further afield in Northumberland or Newcastle can reach the clinic with ease for both routine appointments and urgent care. The familiar and welcoming environment of a garden centre also helps to create a less clinical first impression, potentially reducing anxiety for pets.

Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group - Ponteland Reviews
Alnorthumbria vets have looked after our dogs for over 10 years and we stuck with them even when we moved to Durham. They’re excellent with our dogs who can be temperamental and they’re very fair with pricing for the various things we have needed as we aren’t insured (due to dogs ages). I cannot recommend them enough - very friendly and they go above and beyond the call of duty. We love you guys - keep up the good work!!!
Jan 02, 2025 · Steven DoggettI’ve used Alnorthumbria for my horses for about 20 years, & moved my dogs to the practice when their old vet retired. Everyone I deal with from telephone enquiries to visits, is so helpful. Unfortunately I’ve recently had a lot of visits recently with Peppa, one of my dogs, and the treatment has been first class. Being kept informed of what is happening and why makes the whole experience less stressful. Johnny always phoned with updates when he says he will, and explains every procedure and aftercare required. Peppa loves all of the staff at the practice! Thanks for the great job you all do
Oct 29, 2024 · Jane ShepstoneMy daughter has a wonderful work experience period with their lovely vets, nurses, and receptionists. They are so kind and professional in their work field, friendly to every animal who needs their help.
Jul 21, 2023 · JKKI've used numerous vet practices over the years in Northumberland and Yorkshire and I can honestly say Alnorthumbria have been the best, most kind and caring vets I've ever used. From annual vaccinations to end of life care they have been truly amazing. I've never felt like they don't care, phonecalls checking up on how things are going with treatment, I've never had that in all the years of having pets. All the staff from the reception right through to the vets have been lovely. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you
Sep 02, 2024 · P TAttended the surgery today ...as a new Healthy Pet Club member to the practice...transferred from Yorkshire. ....was very upset at the way I was spoken to and made to feel....both my elderly dogs were due their injections in July and found this out when I said I had not had a reminder and it seemed a long time since their previous injections. when I asked today....as a HPC member my old practice sent a courtesy txt...not so here...only after initial injections??? I suggested it would be helpful to point this out at the initial appointment...The internet page says suggestion most welcome....mine was met with disdain and rudeness. Would not recommend this practice for HPC members. Have always been fortunate in the past..
