Gentle Consultations for Illness and Injury: Providing thorough examinations and personalised treatment plans for a wide range of medical conditions, injuries, and chronic diseases. The vets are consistently praised for being "very gentle and caring" during these consultations.
Surgical Procedures: Performing both routine surgeries (like neutering) and more complex procedures with careful attention to pain management and post-operative care.
Dental Care: Offering services to maintain oral health, from routine checks to procedures for dental disease, crucial for overall pet well-being.
Diagnostic Services: Utilising appropriate diagnostic tools such as in-house blood tests and other laboratory services to aid in accurate and timely diagnoses.
Microchipping: Providing essential microchipping services for permanent identification, a legal requirement for dogs in the UK and highly recommended for cats.
Pet Euthanasia and Bereavement Support: Offering profoundly empathetic and compassionate support during the difficult decision of end-of-life care, ensuring a peaceful passing for pets and comfort for grieving owners, as highlighted by a deeply moving testimonial.
Post-Operative and Aftercare Guidance: Providing clear and detailed explanations of treatment plans and aftercare instructions, ensuring owners are fully informed and confident in managing their pet's recovery at home.
Exceptional Empathy and Compassion: The most consistent and powerful highlight from customer reviews is the profound empathy displayed by the entire team, particularly during difficult times like euthanasia. This genuine "kindness and care" truly "eases the pain" for grieving owners.

Remarkably Reasonable Pricing: A standout feature, specifically noted by a client who was "shocked how reasonable it was," indicating that the clinic prioritises animal welfare and accessibility of care over excessive profit margins. This directly supports the idea that "they care about the animals and not in it for the money."

Feb 10, 2025 · Julie MccormickMy experience was short as my pet passed away before COVID but she was 19 years and had cancer which was expected since she was so old. (She's the tortoise shell) they were brilliant with her. However I recently got a new pet, jet (black shorthair) and my partner registered him online it's took more then a month and I still haven't gotten a call to get him an appointment. We need a chip for him and we've just had no communication at all.[EDIT] Had to go into the vets to actually get an appointment and they got me in practically straight away!
Jul 04, 2023 · Sharp HarpWe would like to thank Sore Paws for carrying out our wishes to have our dog Oscar euthanised at home after a long illness. A professional and compassionate service was carried out by Sarah and Lauren Putting us at ease at a difficult time. It meant a lot to us and is greatly appreciated. We would have no hesitation in recommending their services to any pet Owner.
Oct 04, 2020 · Richard DrewExcellent veterinary practice. Highly recommended. I was only a client for a short period of time for my dogs, Frida and Loki, but I was very pleased with the high-quality, inexpensive service and very friendly, knowledgeable staff, who went out of their way to help me when my dog developed a cough, which has now thankfully got better. I had to register with a different practice as I needed a vet within walking distance from my home, but I would go back to Sore Paws in an instant if I lived closer. I am happy to recommend Sore Paws in the strongest possible terms to anyone looking for care for their dogs. Thank you! x
