Calcaria Veterinary Practice Reviews
Spent thousands on my dogs ears which they never fixed and after multiple appointments asked me to find another vet. The staff, in particular the general manager is the rudest person i've ever spoke to. I have managed to find better advice through other people who have french bulldogs and cured his issues myself. Would not recommend!
May 14, 2025 · Danielle AllenBeen today with my dog loki as he split his tail wagging too much hit it on a corner got in same day and vet checked and bandaged it up give antibioticsFriendly staff and caring
Apr 22, 2025 · Ang MacdonaldI was impressed that there was no waiting time each time I took Winston the Cockerpoo for his appointment. He was seen quickly and there were no other animals in the reception area.He got good treatment which has improved his health and I was given clear advice to make him more pain free moving forward.I thought the fees were very reasonable too.
Oct 11, 2022 · Dave BlackburnVery unimpressed with the vet's manner. Took my 2 kittens in for neutering and had to argue the point with him for 10 minutes about why I was choosing not to microchip my indoor cats that day. No reflection on the female members of staff whatsoever, who I know from the York practice and are always extremely pleasant and helpful. The vet on the other hand needs to work on his people skills or remain in the back room. I won't be returning.
Feb 24, 2022 · nik cannWe phoned to book an appointment for our new cat spaying and got a date and time for her appointment. We then got a phone call a week or so later informing us the appointment had been moved to a week after the original appointment. The day of the original appointment comes and we received a phone call informing us they were expecting our cat for a spaying. So we told them the appointment had been moved by them and they apparently had no idea why or by who it had been moved. Unfortunately our cat had been fed already that day so we couldn't take her to get spayed. We were told we'd be phoned back to arrange another appointment but we were not. So we left it a few days and tried to phone back but the answer machine said they were closed. We tried to phone back every day for a week, morning and afternoon but they were closed. The general consensus is that this vet is not reliable at all. We'll try to book an appointment and - if we manage to get one - will update this review to reflect the service received. As of March 2021, we felt it appropriate to give Calcaria 1 star for lack of realiability and unprofessional practice.UPDATE 16/09/21:We managed to get in contact with them to arrange an appointment, however the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude. We were informed we'd made an appointment prior and that they believed we didn't show up (which makes the response from Calcaria below a lie!). The earliest appointment they had was late October so we felt it best to try another place. When we told the receptionist this, she furthered her attitude by judging us on our want to look at other places. Then immediately hung up.Disgraceful behaviour, extremely unreliable, and most definitely needs a new receptionist. The 1 star rating is the only appropriate one.
