May 23, 2025 路 Holly FoxI was a customer for a short time as unfortunately my senior cat grew very sick not long after adotption. Peak Vets and all their staff I interacted with were delightful and very supportive throughout our experiance. Sadly, my cat was recently put to sleep as the illness got too much for her. The staff were wonderful and sensitive, highly recommend. They were truly worth everything we put into it.
Jul 16, 2025 路 JJ 2003This review is detailed, lengthy, and well deserved! I have had poor experiences with vets previously, and I could not be happier with the service provided at Peak Vets. I have recommended them to several people. One of my pets passed away suddenly from a freak cardiac incident this week whilst under the care of a cattery (I was on business travel). He was only 2 years old, and I was devastated. The cattery staff contacted Peak and they sorted everything out whilst I was away. I was really touched. The staff at Peak Vets made a really awful time easier for me, taking fur clippings and paw prints when I was away. They dealt with it perfectly, reassuring me it wasn鈥檛 my fault and there was nothing I could鈥檝e done - it felt like they truly understood my pain, the emotions I was feeling, the guilt, and I felt that they loved my cat as much as I did. The whole team, vets, nurses, and reception staff comforted me with so much empathy and compassion, gave me a hug, offered me a cup of tea, and I felt really grateful that it was them who handled the situation, and who are there for my other 2 fur babies. All of their vets are friendly, practical, incredibly knowledgable, compassionate, and understanding, and are always non-judgemental with regards to financial constraints around pet care - as someone with limited disposable income, I cannot express how much this is appreciated, to feel supported in decision making. I have never felt like they are financially motivated at Peak Vets, and they will explain honestly the benefits of certain diagnostics/treatments - and tell you if it鈥檚 actually worth doing. This is very refreshing opposed to other practices who will encourage unnecessary screenings or medications with limited benefits to increase charges. The reception staff are equally as good - very kind, warm, and friendly.Specific advantages I鈥檝e noticed since being with Peak are the Pet Health for Life plan, which is incredibly good value for money - 2x vet visits a year, 2x nurse visits a year, all flea/worm/tick treatment, and annual boosters as a package for 拢16/mo. They will also see 2 cats at once for appointments to help manage consultation costs; and they do a blood panel as a precaution, as routine before any procedure requiring anaesthetic - other practices will only do this for older pets or those with pre-existing conditions. It鈥檚 the small touches such as these that show the care that goes into the service and the absence of profit motive, I truly believe they are driven by genuine care for their patients. Thank you for looking after my cats, I feel like they are in incredibly safe hands, and anyone reading this review should have absolutely zero hesitancies signing up or swapping over to Peak.
Mar 22, 2025 路 Kelsey R WosnitzkaAs a former client of Peak Vets, which was once a great vet practice, I sadly know all too well that once Linnaeus (owned by Mars Inc.) took over Peak Vets (after one of the owners, Steve, left following a dog sadly dying alone in overnight 'care', according to another vet there) standards dropped and prices rose. One of my greyhounds suddenly started limping on one front leg at age nine, and I was assured it was arthritis by James. I just knew it was cancer, so I insisted on an MRI. He put in a non urgent referral. I got it upgraded to urgent, and they found an aggressive malignant tumour. She died a couple of weeks later. Another greyhound went in with a small pressure sore on his foot. They wrapped it in heavy bandages and vetwrap, which put more pressure on it and made it far worse. Then they wanted to cut the poor dog's toe off! I spent two months healing it with Manuka honey and then applying a colloidal dressing, used by the NHS, and wrapping in lightweight gauze every other day - cost a small fortune. They also had another greyhound under anaesthetic for three hours for a dental, which is far too long (I have the vet records). She died of kidney failure 6 weeks later. Linnaeus are still very aggressively pursuing me for payment for that treatment via their amoral and incompetent debt collectors. I was with Peak Vets almost from when it was set up by Steve and Greg, for around 15 years, and I must have spent 拢30-40K with them during that time. I wish to god I'd left sooner. I'm surprised that not only have the good vets that know all too well how Peak has changed since Linnaeus took over are not only still there but are also leaving 5 star reviews for Linnaeus. Shakes head. I was assured nothing would change. Hard lesson to learn.
