Park Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Our puppy was admitted as an emergency after being bitten by another dog , she reacted ( frightened as she blind ) to the clippers so we asked that she be sedated and clipped then, except there was fur left around the wound , the vet gave pain relief and sedation when we were in the consultation room, the dog was not shaved, was not given antibiotics for the first 24 hours resulting in a deep infection and necrotising wounds, she was discharged by 2 vets and was highly unfit for discharge, she could have died over night, her wound was constantly weeping and making her dehydrated, the following day we took her as an emergency to Pride in Derbys the bill there was £4867. We then felt unwilling to pay the nearly one thousand pounds bill at Park Veterinary Hospital because of failure to treat the initial wound in the correct manner , any dog bite needs debriding to prevent necrosis , or prescribe antibiotics. ( my nephew is a vet and has advised on how we should have preceded at the time, the wound should have been treated on day one )After a letter of complaint we were taking advice legally , They then sent it to a debt collector which gave us no choice but to refer the whole situation to the Veterinary Mediation Service, the bill was wiped, a week later they sent a letter saying we are no longer welcome!! I have been a loyal customer for well over 30 years and this is how they treat loyal customers , our dog didn’t receive correct treatment in the beginning or we wouldn’t be in this situation or even writing this review , when mr Newton had this vets he would have been highly embarrassed by this kind of behaviour, I really don’t like writing reviews like this but I do believe people need to be aware. To add having to find a new vet for both my business and my own animals isn’t easy , so glad my nephew is a vet has advised .park vets are really hard to talk to even our mediator said communication was bad . Finally they now don’t want us as customers because I felt really nervous when my rabbit was treated by the same vet who had failed us .Please note my dogs are under the care of another family member so when I am in Zimbabwe medical care can be easily accessible, we have always had this agreement , Park vets have not had any contact with myself , there has been no correspondence with myself . There has been correspondence with my sister who is my named advocate , while I can be working in Zimbabwe for 6 months in a year . I love my pets very much . I was in the uk when Park vets failed in their duty of care . You have also addressed me wrongly I am not MS I am Reverend . When I rang the practice to speak to your practice manager he had gone home . I rang on Thursday to be told he works Monday to Wednesday . I repeat again the seriousness of this complaint the treatment my puppy received was inadequate and not what I expected . When she was discharged on the Monday night , she could have died , she was still seriously ill , Pride have also questioned why the injury wasn’t clear of fur .May I remind you that we have paid into the practice plan , so our animals can recieve flea / worming , vaccination and money off spaying which when my sister wanted to collect you told her £300 if she collected , you had already taken £45 out of my sisters account , then you withdrew your services 4 days after you took money . I have since seen the letter you wrote with regard to the waver , I wasn’t included in this letter so there is no legal obligation for me to remain silent .I should say since talking with my nephew who is a vet , he has told me that no admission of guilt and your gagging order shields you from the truth being told . My sister has dealt with you for 30 years , the treatment given in this case has been totally appalling.Further note I have always been polite in my treatment of your team , I have never been rude to anyone , I have always treated you well , this little bit implying I have behaved in any other way is tarnishing my good character.Emailed over 1 week ago no reply
Mar 20, 2024 · Tina Sampson-SmithI cannot fault the real advice given when we wanted that honest advice regarding our Suki aged 15 who had breast cancer the previous vets just wouldn't give advice but the words from the lady vet on our first appointment and the gent who did allow her to go to sleep a week later when we had all said our goodbyes were brilliant, compassionate, and real.Thank you
Oct 22, 2024 · Dean HollandSam Seymour has attended the practice for many years and although a handful has received brilliant care from all of your practioners. My experience with Sam once seen never forgot. Special thanks to Fraser and Lucy who left the practice.
Feb 02, 2024 · Russell SeymourThe team at Park Vets are exceptional. The care that our dog Lottie received over the last two years has been exceptional. It was clear how passionate, skilled and caring all the vets, nurses and reception staff are. Our Lottie was made a fuss of, and despite having surgery and more, she trotted in happily. We sadly lost lottie to cancer but we couldn't have wished for better care for her, putting her quality of life first at every turn. Thank you to you all.
Sep 27, 2023 · Frances WalkerTHIS VET IS AWESOME!I had such a good experience with this vet. They were immense. It was the first time I’d been to a vet and they were so good with me and my hamster. They fitted in a 17:45 (out of office hours) appointment on the very day I rang up and they handled the visit so well. Milo had a minor infection and they administered medicines which solved the issue after a week. The girl who dealt with me (didn’t get her name but she was young and wears glasses), was particularly fantastic. She checked Milo thoroughly and was so cool and friendly to talk to.The consultation and prescription fees were also very reasonable.I’ll definitely be using them again, should I require further help.
