May 28, 2025 路 Linda RoachFirstly my rating is not aimed at the staff , the receptionists are lovely and the vets are brilliant, Giles is great ! He took care of a dog i had amazingly, although he couldn't fix her , I could see the upset in him and the reception staff as well, so didn't end well , but care given was 5* . Since then I got a new pup , Oakhill didn't offer the same brand of vaccination as the breeder gave her , so for that one off occasion, I went to a vets that offered the same brand , a year on , she's due her vaccination, rang Oakhill to book her in just for the jab ! There has not been a time in the past year that I have needed the vets . Was told I had to pay a " new dog fee" , I asked what that was for , was so the vet could check her over and meet and get to know the dog , as well as the dog to meet the vet . After 30 years of being registered at this vets , I couldn't belive what I was hearing ! I have to pay a fee just for a meet and greet ! Times are hard enough for people, they shouldn't have to pay for something that doesn't require a vets help , all I wanted was the jabs , not this additional fee of 拢37 for the privilege of a meet and greet ! It screams greed !!! I was so disappointed as iv been with this vets for 30 years , so disheartening. The dog is going back to the original vets , as i refuse to pay this ridiculous additional fee ! You would only take your animal to a vets , if there was a problem, or you needed yearly boosters , definitely not for a meet up and pay out for it !
Apr 25, 2025 路 Gemma Banks10 days ago the time came for my beautiful lurcher to be PTS to prevent further suffering from an illness. The Oakhill receptionist Deborah was so kind, understanding, helpful and reassuring as I struggled, a few times, to make the final appointment and she ensured we had the private peace room for our final goodbyes. The vet Kathryn was also amazing. Everyone was so kind, patient and understanding of our grief which softened the traumatic experience as much as it possibly could, and they gave us plenty of time to sit with him after he passed. I really appreciate their genuine care and compassion. Thankyou.
