Johnny was incredibly thorough and is obviously gifted with horses. Would highly recommend for all equine needs.
Jun 30, 2025 · Kitty ThomasOakham veterinary hospital look after all 4 of my cats and the dog. Welcoming reception staff and great vets, probably not the cheapest as I've heard ( not been to any others) but an impeccable service, they are so caring and build up a trust with your pet. None of my pets like going there, but I pay the bill so its my choice.
Jul 13, 2025 · Andy HillBooked my horse in for a castration procedure. I wanted to talk through the safest options with a vet because he is an older horse and at higher risk of castration complications. I phoned to book in and asked for Niel the vet to call me back to discuss the procedure and what would be best for my horse. I was also very anxious because I have recently lost a horse of the same breeding due to a reaction to sedation and his death has made me very aware that normal routine procedures come with risk so I wanted to discuss this concern with Niel also and establish if the shared breeding traits would make him higher risk of sedation complications. I left telephone messages for Niel every day from Monday to Thursday and was promised every day he would call me back- he didn’t. Totally unsympathetic to my concerns and he took it upon himself to assume he had no need to discuss with me the owner what type of castration procedure he would perform of the several options, giving me no choice in my horses treatments. I finally spoke to the practice manager to complain. Only to find out that Neil doesn’t work Thursday Friday so he wouldn’t be calling me back before my horse was booked to be operated on. Thanks to Neil’s total disregard to my concerns and questions Im about to cancel with Oakham and go with a different hospital. I’m so disappointed with the attitude of Oakham and the complete lack of any communication especially when it comes to just talking through the actual treatment. Won’t be approaching Oakham again on this basis. The arrogance is off the scale.
Jun 06, 2025 · KirstyI cant thank these lovely caring people enough. Today we had to take our Benji to the rainbow bridge. We had nothing but compassion and care from all the staff. We were clearly distraught and they gave us space and time. You could tell from the first moment we contacted us how compassionate and caring they are. So thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for looking after our much loved Benji and us. You should be proud of how you care for our pets and the family.
Jul 12, 2025 · deborah smithThis organisation has helped me for several years now. My cat has an allergy problem. We can not find what he is allergic to. Every couple of months Tom has to have a steroid injections to stop his allergy becoming worse. Tom hates going to the vets he gets really upset about it. But recently the vets have started coming out to us. They bring the scales, they know what to bring meds wise and they do a complete check on him. It's a wonderful service Tom was hardly upset by it, no travelling , no cat carrier. He was done and dusted in no time and was outside playing before the lovely lady left. It's a wonderful service by a first class vetinary practise.try it and see , I am sure you will be delighted.
