Its position on Queen Katherines Avenue, a main thoroughfare, ensures straightforward access whether you are travelling by car or are within walking distance from nearby residential areas. The experience at Vets for Pets - Kendal, as reflected in customer feedback, reveals several key strengths and areas where improvements could be sought:
- Kind and Helpful People: A significant highlight consistently praised is the presence of "the kindest and most helpful people," indicating a genuinely caring and supportive team.
- Excellent Handling of Emergencies: For urgent situations, the practice has been described as "nothing short of fantastic," providing critical care when it's most needed.
- Transparent Pricing: Clients appreciate receiving a "quote before so you're don't have a shock after," promoting financial clarity and trust.
- Good Communication: The team's effort to "keep in touch" with pet owners regarding their animal's condition is highly valued, ensuring owners are well-informed.
- Spot-On Aftercare: The commendation for "aftercare is spot on" suggests a commitment to post-treatment support and follow-up, which is vital for recovery.
- Approachability of Vets: Individual vets, such as "Vet Connor in particular," are highlighted for being "very easy to talk to" and explaining "everything in depth," fostering clear communication and trust.
- Dedicated Facilities: The practice is equipped with modern facilities including an operating theatre, prep area, separate cat and dog kennels, and an X-ray room, providing comprehensive in-house capabilities.
- Convenient Retail Park Location: Being inside Pets at Home at a busy retail park provides unparalleled convenience for pet owners to combine veterinary visits with other errands.
However, it is also important to acknowledge that some customer experiences can vary, as indicated by one review regarding post-operative care and communication. While the effort during the procedure was appreciated, the follow-up communication and addressing initial concerns could have been handled more effectively, leading to a stressful experience for the pet owner and requiring further emergency care elsewhere. This suggests that while overall care and emergency handling are strong, consistent communication in all phases of treatment, particularly post-operatively, is an area that some clients may find could be enhanced for a smoother overall experience.

Vets for Pets - Kendal Reviews
I had a very upsetting experience at Vets4Pets Kendal when my cat underwent an extensive dental procedure. After the surgery, I noticed signs that something might not be right. However, when I raised my concerns on multiple occasions, I felt they were not adequately addressed.Unfortunately, my cat’s condition worsened, and I ended up needing to take them to an emergency vets, where he required further care. While I’m relieved that the emergency team was able to help, the situation could have been handled more smoothly if my initial concerns had been taken more seriously. It was a stressful experience for both me and my cat, and while I appreciate the efforts of the staff during the procedure itself, the post-operative care and communication left much to be desired.
Jan 21, 2025 · ZoeA really brilliant practise with the kindest and most helpful people. Had a few emergency issues with my dogs and both times they have been nothing short of fantastic. They give a quote before so you're don't have a shock after, they keep in touch and their aftercare is spot on. Vet Connor in particular is very easy to talk to and explains everything in depth.
Nov 16, 2024 · Beth CalvertI turned up today at 9am with my dog Norm who was feeling poorly. James saw us straight away, really lovely and kind as he was with my other dogs. Norm is feeling much better and I’m very grateful. The staff are always helpful, kind and friendly. Thank you!
Jun 08, 2024 · Michaela WalshGreat team at Vets4Pets Kendal! We’ve become regular clients this year after 3/4 of our rats became poorly due to their old age and we adopted 2 new rabbits who needed booster jabs. Every vet we have seen has been very supportive, compassionate and kind towards both us and our pets.In particular, the vet (I think he is called James) was so kind towards our rats when he saw them. He is always so lovely and really treats the animals with great care and it really shows. Also the lady on reception who is always smiley and chatty! They are so supportive which we are so grateful for 🥰
May 28, 2024 · chloe dalzellMy 3 cats have always been well looked after here. You couldn't ask for lovelier, more welcoming staff. They work really hard to do a difficult job and my husband and I always appreciate the lengths they go to to look after our cats.
