Avoid! Avoid! On taking my dog for what I thought was an infection on his back, I was very upset to be informed he was in alot of pain and needed acupuncture. I left him, as they could "squeeze the proceedure in that day". It was past closing time and we still hadn't got a call to say he was ready, their answering machine was now on out of hours, so we just turned up. We still had to wait as our dog wasn't awake , so we settled the bill. It was only then, we were told he needed another 5 sessions. This was a surprise and so we asked to speak to the vet for more information. He immediately perceived this as a challenge and rather than explain the treatment which we were dubious about, he ranted about his experience and credentials. We found his manner rude and pompous. He ignored our genuine concerns and stormed off.3 applications of coconut oil did the trick. I have waited several months to leave this review to ensure the coconut oil worked long term.
Jul 07, 2025 路 Bill RussellAVOID AT ALL COSTS!! It does not deserve 1 star!! We strongly believe if we had not taken our beautiful girl Nala here she would still be with us today. She was so young and taken too soon the loss of her has broken our hearts forever!!I took her here unwell, 6 months previous to this she was here with the SAME SYMPTOMS! Antibiotics prescribed told - "BRING HER BACK IF SHE GETS WORSE!"Over the weekend she got worse, thinking it was the Antibiotics we stopped these, 6 months ago exactly the same scenario vet told us to stop giving her the Antibiotics and prescribed new ones. Phoned on the Monday told that they were to busy to see her vet said "JUST CARRY ON WITH THE ANTIBIOTICS" A day and a half later she sadly passed away 馃挃.On the day she died we took her to another vet to confirm she had died, he asked us what her symptoms were and when she had her last season, he new straight away, experts in the room all concluded the same cause of death.Took a letter down for the vet with a right to reply and get her records, I HAVE NEVER BEEN MADE TO FEEL SO WORTHLESS! Knowing my situation they made me wait 45 minutes, laughed at by his wife and mocked by the receptionist NO SYMPATHY OR COMPASSION! 45 minutes later he arrived his actions and words LACKING in professionalism, pressurising and intimidating me in to telling him where we took her after she died - WHY DID HE NEED TO KNOW THAT... Telling me we didn't help her by stopping the Antibiotics - THIS WAS THE ADVICE GIVEN 6 MONTHS AGO.. Calling me a LIAR that when I rang up to tell them she was deteriorating, that I was only ringing to tell him we were stopping the Antibiotics - IF WE WERE STOPPING THE ANTIBIOTICS WOULD I RING HIM TO TELL HIM THIS? MAKES NO SENSE!!! NO I WANTED TO BRING HER BACK LIKE YOU TOLD US BUT YOU WERE TO BUSY!He also called the other practice LIARS - A MAN IN HIS POSITION DOES NOT DO THAT!! I made him aware it was 6 months ago we brought her in with the same symptoms - HE SAID " TIMINGS ARE NOT IMPORTANT" SHOULD A VET SAY THAT....WE STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT HIS NEGLIGENCE COST OUR BELOVED NALA HER LIFE! THE LEVEL OF CARE SHE RECEIVED FELL BELOW THE EXPECTED STANDARD AND WE HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS WITH HIS AND THE PRACTICES PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT THAT NEED BRINGING TO PEOPLE'S ATTENTION!!IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!!

Mar 01, 2025 路 Claire HorneCooper was poorly for awhile with neck pain, but the weekend before he died, he had deteriorated and weeing a lot and drinking lots of water. I told my husband that he may need a blood test to find out if he got an infection or kidney problems. This was the Monday he had the blood test and said that they will get the result the following day, but Cooper was very poorly the following morning he was shaking so we phoned the vet and said that Cooper was very unwell but they still haven鈥檛 got the results back at 3 o鈥檆lock. We phoned again and they had the results and said oh it鈥檚 okay his kidney function is a bit high so we need to bring him in for 24 hours to have a drip so it was a bit of a whirlwind we took him and they hooked him up that evening. We phoned that evening and they said that he was fine and settled and the following day Wednesday, I asked what was his kidney function levels a dog can be 130 but Coopers was 500 which is pretty high they said it was only a little high the day before So we got a phone call Wednesday evening to say that Cooper was okay. He was very settled but the only thing was he wasn鈥檛 eating so I cooked him sausages for him to have which he ate when we took it down to him They also said on the Wednesday that they would need to keep him in for 48 hours to make sure that they had flushed out all the toxin in his body Thursday morning I phoned to ask how Cooper is doing and the receptionist told me he perked up quite a lot that morning and looked a lot better so me and my husband was very excited to be collecting our boy from the vets Thursday evening. Unfortunately that was not the case as he came out of the room. He looked traumatised. He couldn鈥檛 see he didn鈥檛 react to us calling him. It was awful. We brought him home. He had no idea where he was or who he was with. He was completely blind. My husband phoned the following day to say that he was blind and the reception said well he was a little bit wobbly but he was okay and my husband replied. My dog is completely blind and doesn鈥檛 know where he is or who is with. Unfortunately that Friday afternoon we had to take our boy to the vet to be put to sleep which again was traumatic. The first injection put him to sleep and relaxi him the second injection was to let him go and he was gasping, he was awful. The vet had no idea that he was blind And didn鈥檛 see that he looked traumatised. The whole experience was unnecessary. They should鈥檝e said the Tuesday when we got the results back with high kidney function level. The kindest thing to do was put to sleep then but no they traumatised my boy for three days put him through distress and discomfort. They knew his kidney levels were too high yet they鈥檙e still persist on doing the treatment they should鈥檝e known it wasn鈥檛 going to save him or do anything good for him. I felt they did not give us a choice. They should鈥檝e explained on the Tuesday how high his kidney functions were and asked us what we wanted to do. We would鈥檝e asked questions but again they did not give us the choice. They were very sprightly about it all saying that he was going to be completely fine and he was doing really well he was content and settled they lied he wasn鈥檛 alright at all he was traumatised!!!! Completely blind and did not react to us at all.

From routine boosters & medication to trauma & lifesaving operation, even astounding acupuncture treatment years ago when all seemed lost, that gave our precious terrier a further 7 years of fantastic & fun filled life.During each animal's lifetime & as they've come & gone, always too soon, Andy, Catherine & their excellent staff have always cared for our pets in a professional & at the same time personal way. Fantastic health care & advice always given & genuine sadness & compassion at our loss when that inevitable time comes around. The wellbeing of your animal is his life's work & with those fantastic waistcoats giving a distinctive air of James Herriott, this for me at least, has always inspired a confidence & familiarity, which goes a long way in times now where such a personal service can be hard to find. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andy & his team to anyone.
