Gatehouse Veterinary Group Reviews
Absolutely appalled with the malpractice that has taken place, I brought my cat in who had recently given birth and her 6 kittens they were aware she was breastfeeding. She had been sneezing and had a sore throat they told us she had cat flu and prescribed her antibiotics that should NOT have been given to a cat that is feeding her babies as it stated on the box as well as tablets that were EXPIRED!!!!! I raised a complaint no one got back to me, due to this we lost all 6 kittens!!! So disgusted and distraught over the neglect of this vets actions, no remorse or care for their actions, do not go to this vets!!!!
Jul 09, 2024 · sanya faisalRang in morning to ask for advice for my poorly kitten. The receptionist took down my number repeated it to me and said she will call me back. This phone call took place at 11 ish in the morning I waited up until 5 o’clock still no call and I called in my self annd asked to come in which they agreed. I came in a 6 due to short notice and JOE said their closed when their actually open till 7 and said im lucky to have my kitten seen. I said to Joe it should state that in the website as it shows it’s open till 7 and I didn’t get a response. Joe was being passive aggressive and saying I haven’t not given my number when I clearly did and I didn’t like her tone or attitude hence I’m writing this review, apart from that everything went well.
May 29, 2025 · SamaraMy cat was in Allerton Gatehouse vetinary practice, in their overnight care with a blocked bladder, transferred from Vets Now. I transferred my cat personally, from one vet to Gatehouse during the morning with a catheter fitted. In overnight care, they are supposed to check the pets at pre determined intervals. My cats bladder burst in their overnight care.Gatehouse vets rang me in the morning and asked whether I wanted my cat saving. Of course I did. Despite the burst bladder, being due to their lack of overnight care, they charged me the full agreed price of £650 and added an additional £750 to the bill, for the treatment they quoted as £650. They also tried to charge for 4 days in-house care when the cat was in the vets care for 3 days, plus the medication for the fourth day. I naturally disputed the charges. They also tried to bill me, during Covid, for a course of antibiotics for a different cat, that had already been paid and I had the receipt for the invoice which was paid on the day £13.50. In addition ,they didn't submit my Tesco insurance claim form for the burst bladder invoice, it mysteriously disappeared, despite being hand delivered , because they incorrectly believed we owed £13.50 for said antibiotics. They threatened to take me to court. I wished now I had done that and utterly discredited them. Instead, I visited the practice and sorted their absolute incompetence out. They capitulated on the proved disputed bill and agreed the £13.50 bill had been paid and offered £100 back for the inconvenience of their shambolic veterinary care.I nearly lost my cat due to their utter incompetence and lack of care. Not to mention my bank balance.Think twice before taking your pets to the Allerton Gatehouse veterinary practice. I have subsequently used Sage vets at Low Moor and Abbey House vets in Morley and Home Comforts vets in Pudsey. Morley vets is open 24./7
May 22, 2025 · susan wilkinsonAbsolutely useless. Please avoid if you care about your pets! Took my female cat who was bleeding and they didn't even check her properly or give us any advice. Just took £64. PDSA instantly diagnosed her, told us she had a life threatening tumour, explained the treatment and booked her in for an emergency operation.
Apr 07, 2025 · Urm KayOn Wednesday this week I took my 10 year old Cocker Spaniel to this surgery as he was heavily panting, constantly drinking and drooling. They shaved his leg and put him on a drip with fluids through a cannula and took some bloods.I collected him later the same day and took him home.I returned yesterday (Thursday) morning to bring him home and was presented with a bill for £890, WOW, but I paid it.Throughout last night, Dexter was continually licking the area within 2 inches of where they shaved his leg, and it was so painful, he wouldn’t let me touch it, so today Friday, I returned to the vets, for him to be seen again,, the vet tried to convince me he had suddenly developed Arthritis in his leg, and charged me for another consultation fee of £58.I will not repeat what I said, but I will never take my animals to this practice.Scandalous beyond belief !!!!!!!!
