Vets for Pets - Durham Reviews
Just moved to the area and my cat had an injury so firstly they were able to accommodate being seen on short notice for a new customer. They also adapted to suit my cat as he gets anxiety going in his cat box. They staff on the front desk were extremely welcoming, polite and friendly. Both entering and exiting. The vet was phenomenal. My cat has seen a lot of vets and the one he saw today was by far the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of taking the cat to. He listened, understood, was friendly, got me involved with decision making, explained everything and made the cat feel at ease. Also, he allowed the option of further treatment to be done over the phone due to the cats anxiety, (obviously this wouldn't be available for all conditions/pets). Again, putting the cats needs first. I just can't big the vet up enough. Thank you!Overall, the place was clean, tidy, with a great atmosphere and I will 100% be taking the cat back in future.
May 08, 2025 · Maria GannonVery caring place. Unfortunately we had to have our dog Roxy put to sleep as she was very poorly which as everyone knows is heart breaking. The staff were very caring and we thank them.
Jul 16, 2025 · Decca CoadThis company exists for profit and profit alone. There doesn't seem to be any care for the animals. £50 for a consultation which consists of one question being asked isn't good business practice. £100 to put one lot of drops in an animals ear. Avoid this place at all costs if you can.
May 16, 2025 · Alec MavI have 3 Cavapoo"s, the boys are fine, go for vacs, both been neutered all good. I also have Daisy, or 'little Daisy' as she is now known as! This is because she still looks like a puppy, and that's due to her list of conditions. She was born blind with a swelling on her brain. She has bladder issues, growth problems, curvature of the spine and is only 2.7kgs at 20 mnths old. Lots of tests and investigations later she is a regular visitor. Richard is wonderful with her. She's so cute, hopefully will be taking her for a while yet, thank-you all x
Jan 28, 2023 · Helen FerryOur elderly Yorkshire terrier was put to sleep shortly after Christmas. We requested an individual cremation as we wanted to have his ashes to be with us. A fortnight later I found out that he had been put into a general cremation. There were no ashes for us to bring home. The devastating loss of our beloved boy has been compounded by the terrible errors which were made. I would urge anyone who is in the heartbreaking situation of having to have a pet put to sleep, to check then double-check multiple times that their wishes have been correctly recorded so that this doesn't happen to them. A commitment was made to me by the vet involved, to review and improve all stages of the processes involved once a pet has been put to sleep, and also introduce safeguards so that this can never happen again. We have been with this practice for many years with no issues. I am devastated that the final requests we made to them were so badly mishandled. It was an unforgivable mistake. The new safeguards will hopefully protect both pets and their owners from the additional grief I have and am suffering. Unfortunately it wasn't in place for us.
