Animal Doctor in Ravenshead is distinguished by several outstanding features and highlights, as consistently praised by their loyal clientele.
- Genuine Animal Welfare Focus: The most resounding highlight is the palpable sense that the practice operates "because they love animals, and not just to make money." This core ethos translates into a truly compassionate and patient-first approach to veterinary care.
- Exceptional Empathy and Patient Handling: Charlotte, a key veterinary surgeon, is repeatedly praised for her "amazing" ability to put anxious dogs at ease, and consequently, their owners. This skill in handling nervous animals, combined with a patient and reassuring manner, makes a significant difference, particularly for pets who find vet visits stressful.
- Transparency and Trustworthiness: A standout feature, as noted by a client, is being "offered a prescription so I can get the medication cheaper online!" This level of transparency and willingness to prioritise the client's financial well-being, even when it means potentially less direct profit for the practice, builds immense trust and loyalty. It sets them apart from practices perceived to be more commercially driven.
- Experienced and Nurturing Team: The practice is described as having "superb" vets, with Charlotte being "totally trusted." The commitment to nurturing new talent, like offering opportunities to "newly qualified vets such as Molly," ensures a continuous influx of fresh perspectives and thorough, personable care. The dedication of nurses who "clearly care and happy to help" further reinforces the team's cohesive and compassionate approach.
- Personalised and Attentive Care: Clients feel they are "given the time and quality attention that my dogs need." This contrasts sharply with experiences at other practices where clients might feel rushed or unheard, emphasizing Animal Doctor’s commitment to thorough examinations and attentive listening.
- Community and Beyond: The delightful anecdote of finding the team "nursing stray kittens, or ducks" showcases their deep-seated love for all animals and their commitment to the broader community, extending their care beyond regular clients to those most in need. This speaks volumes about their character and dedication.
- Independent and Family-Run Ethos: Being a privately owned, family-run business allows them to maintain a unique ethos, focusing on personal care and avoiding the often more corporate feel of larger veterinary chains. This ensures a consistent level of personalised service and a direct connection between the practice's values and its daily operations.
- Modern Facilities: Both the Ravenshead and Redhill practices are equipped with modern surgical suites, dental care services, and an on-site X-ray machine at Ravenshead, ensuring high-quality diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

Animal Doctor Reviews
A breath of fresh air- I came to this practice after my old practice let me and my dog down. Charlotte was amazing with my dog, who is very anxious. She put him at his ease and also me. This feels like a practice that do what they do because they love animals, and not just to make money. It is the first time I have been offered a prescription so I can get the medication cheaper online! Can't recommend highly enough.
Jun 17, 2025 · Jill CsehiTrusting a vet for my dogs is really important to me.Charlotte is a superb vet, whom I totally trust. She listens, examines and then diagnoses. I'm given the time and quality attention that my dogs need. Charlotte runs a professional practice, giving opportunities to newly qualified vets, such as Molly, who I found to be very thorough and personable. My dog liked her too! Miriam brings expertise and quality veterinary care. The nurses clearly care and happy to help. You might even find them nursing stray kittens, or ducks!Thank you 💚
Nov 08, 2024 · Lucy GreavesMiriam is the BEST ever. I have taken 3 of my dogs to this vets & I love them. Charlotte is also wonderful. Miriam saved our rescue dogs life. Gave empathetic advice regarding one of our old dogs, who sadly had to go to heaven & operated on our pug who sadly lost an eye. All with amazing care & after care. Miriam is an angel in disguise. The majority of the team here are wonderful & kind, caring and compassionate.

Oct 07, 2023 · Dean BorgThis photo is especially for the dearest (master irony) Dr. Rachel Glebocki, be more aware of your words, because they destroyed me, brought me down, took me to the bottom! I was afraid, scared and very afraid of losing Mel and all because of a wrong diagnosis of yours, about Mel! You told me: Mel has heart failure, Mel if she travels will die on the flight, you told me several times about this, I was almost changing my life because of you, you gave Mel 4 types of medicine and that was only after listening to Mel's heart, without even referring her to a cardiologist, without even doing an echocardiogram! If I hadn't gone to the Lawrence Veterinary Centre & Cat Clinic I wouldn't have discovered that Mel doesn't have heart failure, she has arrhythmia but nothing that needs medication now, she needs to be checked every 6 months, Mel is also 10 years old, dwarf size, normal for her age to have problems and she has had this problem for years now, but her heart is normal size, normal shape, without major anomalies, Dr Tom was an angel in my life, if I hadn't gone after it, (a measure from Vets Now advised me to search on Google for better clinics with better reviews) he wouldn't even have discovered the tracheal collapse, that's right, she has TRACHEAL COLLAPSE and you medicating her wrong, could kill my dog and making me have anxiety attacks! You told me she would die on the flight to Brazil, right?! That she wouldn't survive! Remember that? Well, thanks to Dr. Tom, he stabilized her trachea and she ARRIVED, SAFE AND SOUND in Brazil, having traveled for over 11 hours and without ANY complications! Be careful! Have more EMPATHY if you can, of course! Can't solve the problem? Refer another professional, this doesn't make you bad at what you do, but rather shows that you are responsible, caring and affectionate! It doesn't diminish you in any way, it only enhances you! If it were up to me today, you would lose your medical license, if I were the owner of the clinic, I would retrain all my veterinarians! And for you, owner, be a true entrepreneur, you don't grow your clinic due to lack of responsibility, offer courses, retrain your veterinarians, hold meetings, see if they need help, see if your veterinarians are truly qualified, be empathetic, you as the owner have to be on top of everything, especially when it comes to lives, guardians, people who have six animals as children (like me)! As a veterinarian, I would never speak to her like she did to me, much less give a diagnosis without tests or results! Now, imagine yourself with a problem and the doctor says: You have cancer! Just examining you, without asking for tests, without asking anything about it, just touching you and listening to what you have to say! Would you really trust her? You wouldn't really go after wanting to cure and survive! That's what she did to me. Luckily, Mel's owner didn't listen to her and I didn't trust her completely! Take care of your clinic! Otherwise, your veterinarian will go bankrupt!
