Vets for Pets - Newtownabbey Reviews
Wasn't impressed - I truly believe my cat would have died if I hadn't taken him to a different vet practice. After multiple, multiple appointments with a cat clearly in pain, Arthur just kept recommending the same treatment that clearly wasn't working and would suggest we wait another week and bring him back, multiple times. He would spend half the appointment over-explaining topics and going off on related tangents and dancing around the subject. My cat is now thriving after emergency treatment at another vets. This is just my personal experience.
Jul 11, 2025 · Katherine McCEveryone at this practice is wonderful and really sound. They'll do whatever they can to help your pet, and have no interest in ripping you off (the cost of veterinary care in general has gone up but we haven't noticed significant/excessive increases at this practice, they're also great about working with insurance). The vets, specifically Rebecca, use current evidence-based best practice to minimize stress on cats during veterinary handling. Our cat Freddie has made himself a regular here, and Rebecca has taken the time to build a bond with him and do what she can to make the visit pleasant for him. He was previously feral and completely unsocialised-- Vets4Pets Newtownabbey is his only experience with veterinarians, and I have never experienced a cat being so chill and content with going to the vet. I highly recommend this practice for the value, knowledgable vets, excellent handling methods, and friendly staff.
Jan 08, 2025 · Megan BergThank you so much for helping our cat Izzy! Everyone from reception through nursing care and the vets looked after him really well. He had been unwell for almost a fortnight. Arthur and the team bonded with him and made sure they did the best for him, as well as keeping the cost down for us. Again, can't thank you all enough for making Izzy better!!
Mar 08, 2025 · Joanne McCartneyI have been with this surgery now for almost 5 years. Unfortunatly my pup has had a lot going on with him in his short life. From a hip replacement to removal of cysts and a Benin cancer on his ear and now being treated for arthritis. On the whole my dog at times can be difficult but the vets here still treat him and very well, they never complain to me when he is being difficult. I would never think of going else were for my pups treatment.
Apr 19, 2025 · Annie McloughlinWe did a mad dash to the vets to arrange an Irish passport for my English dog (rather than pay £250 each time we travel to Europe for an EHC). This meant disembarking the ferry at 09:45 in Belfast, travelling to Vets4Pets, then back to the ferry for 11:00 to check in.Arthur took a long phone call with me before hand to explain the process (at no cost) then saw me on the day I travelled. Arthur is obviously very knowledgeable on the paperwork process and completed this very quickly in person.Great service from start to finish and the ladies on reception are great craic.Thank you all very much,Ryan (and Magnus)
