This address places it in a well-established area of Rotherham, making it relatively straightforward to find for local residents. For those travelling by car, the location benefits from being within reasonable proximity to major road networks, which can be particularly advantageous for pet owners travelling from slightly further afield within the South Yorkshire region. The local road infrastructure around Broom Road is generally well-maintained, contributing to a smoother journey to and from appointments.
Public transport options in Rotherham also offer avenues for reaching The Physio Corner, though for pets, private vehicle transport is often preferred for comfort and convenience, especially for animals recovering from surgery or with significant mobility challenges. However, for those without private transport, local bus routes may provide connections to the vicinity of Broom Road, requiring a short walk to the clinic. Ample consideration has been given to ensuring the location is not overly difficult to navigate, providing a stress-free experience for pet owners who are already managing their animal's health concerns. The straightforward address and the clinic's presence in a known part of Rotherham mean that finding this essential service is as easy as possible for the local community seeking specialised veterinary physiotherapy.
The array of services offered at a dedicated veterinary physiotherapy centre like The Physio Corner is designed to address a wide spectrum of animal health needs, particularly those related to mobility, pain management, and post-injury or post-operative rehabilitation. Their comprehensive approach aims to restore function, reduce discomfort, and improve the overall quality of life for your cherished pet. The following are some of the key services you can expect to find:
- Hydrotherapy: This is a cornerstone of animal rehabilitation, utilising the buoyancy and resistance of water to facilitate movement without putting excessive strain on joints. It's incredibly beneficial for conditions like arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia, IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), and for general muscle strengthening and cardiovascular fitness. The controlled environment of a hydrotherapy pool or underwater treadmill allows for safe and effective exercise.
- Acupuncture: A traditional Chinese medicine technique adapted for animals, acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate healing and pain relief. It's often used to manage chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, and even some internal organ dysfunctions. Many pets find it relaxing, and it can be a valuable complementary therapy.
- Manual Therapy: This encompasses a range of hands-on techniques performed by the therapist, including massage, joint mobilisation, stretching, and soft tissue manipulation. These techniques aim to reduce muscle tension, improve joint range of motion, alleviate pain, and promote circulation. Manual therapy is often a crucial component of a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
- Therapeutic Exercise: Tailored exercise programs are designed to strengthen specific muscle groups, improve balance and coordination, increase endurance, and enhance overall physical fitness. These exercises can involve various props and equipment and are progressed as your pet gains strength and confidence.
- Electrotherapy: Modalities such as therapeutic ultrasound, laser therapy, and TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) can be used to reduce pain, inflammation, and promote tissue healing at a cellular level. These non-invasive treatments are often integrated into a broader treatment plan.
- Weight Management Programs: Obesity in pets can exacerbate many health issues, particularly those related to joints and mobility. The Physio Corner can offer guidance and support for weight loss through exercise and dietary advice, which is vital for long-term health.
- Pre and Post-Operative Rehabilitation: Essential for optimising recovery outcomes, these programs prepare pets for surgery and then guide them through the recovery process, helping to regain strength, mobility, and function as quickly and safely as possible.
These services are typically delivered after a thorough initial assessment, ensuring that each treatment plan is precisely tailored to the individual needs of your pet, reflecting a commitment to personalised and effective care.
Beyond the comprehensive range of services, what truly sets a veterinary physiotherapy centre apart are its specific features and highlights that enhance the patient and owner experience. The Physio Corner in Rotherham boasts several key attributes that contribute to its reputation as a leading facility for animal rehabilitation:
- Highly Experienced and Caring Professionals: As evidenced by customer testimonials, the staff at The Physio Corner, particularly Angela and Susanne, are frequently praised for their expertise, dedication, and genuine care for the animals they treat. This human-centric approach, combined with professional skill, fosters trust and comfort for both pets and their owners.
- Personalised Treatment Plans: There is no one-size-fits-all approach to animal rehabilitation. A significant highlight is their commitment to creating bespoke treatment plans, meticulously designed to address each pet's unique condition, recovery stage, and individual needs. This ensures the most effective and efficient path to recovery.
- Focus on Long-Term Mobility and Recovery: Unlike reactive treatments for acute issues, The Physio Corner emphasises ongoing support and long-term improvements in mobility and quality of life. For conditions like IVDD, their continuous hydrotherapy sessions demonstrate this commitment to sustained well-being.
- Support for Owners: The team goes the extra mile, as highlighted by a review mentioning assistance with adjusting a dog's wheels. This indicates a holistic approach that extends beyond the animal to support the owner in managing their pet's condition, offering practical advice and empathetic understanding.
- Positive and Encouraging Environment: While not explicitly stated, the positive outcomes and high recommendations from clients suggest a clinic environment that is supportive, encouraging, and conducive to healing, which is vital for animals undergoing therapy.
These features combine to create a deeply professional yet warmly empathetic environment where pets receive not just treatment, but genuine care and dedication to their recovery and ongoing health.

The Physio Corner Reviews
After an IVDD disaster, we’ve continued to visit Angela regularly for hydrotherapy, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful. She is fantastic. Angela has made a massive difference to our dog’s recovery and ongoing mobility. We always feel in safe hands, and the progress we’ve seen has been incredible. Highly recommend!
Jul 04, 2025 · Alex RoebuckBeen bringing my cavalier Charlie here a while now for Acupuncture for his bad back, Susanne is brilliant, she goes the extra mile and genuinely cares for your pet. She even helped us adjust his wheels for him. Highly recommend them, fab service.
Aug 16, 2023 · Lindsey HopeI couldn’t recommend Vet Susanne enough. She has absolutely gone absolutely above and beyond for our dogs, her knowledge is outstanding, she is professional, incredibly thorough and kind. What’s great is that she really understands sighthounds, my dog’s quality of life has been extended greatly. Not only did she help one of my dogs go from being super sad because he was lame from corns to a happy dog running around, but she listened to me when I was vague in saying that something ‘wasn’t right’ with my lurcher. My concerns had been fobbed off by multiple vets and even a neuro specialist as a behavioural problem but Susanne pushed for an MRI which revealed a whole boat load of issues.I’m so happy to say that with her help, the right pain medication and of course acupuncture, hydro and laser therapy, he has returned to being a jolly little dog without behavioural issues. We have had other injuries and accidents along the way (clumsy sighthounds!) and she has helped us through every single one. Now my dogs cry with excitement to get into the practice, tails wagging, pulling me into the door! Bob even sings her a song when he goes in, although it is a bit out of tune 😄I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I couldn’t recommend her and her team enough. Thanks The Physio Corner for being awesome!
Apr 18, 2023 · Dog and Bone ClubFantastic service from this lovely place. Susannah went above and beyond to get our cavalier fit in time to go on holiday with us, even seeing us on a day when they are usually closed. She was so caring and we cannot thank her enough.
Apr 29, 2023 · Dave CheethamRude and unfriendly service. Also has slippery floor tiles in the hydrotherapy area, meaning my dog slipped and fell when she came out. She snapped a second ligament in the fall and Physio Corner could not have been less interested and took zero responsibility. Have since found a different place which is a hundred times better where the staff actually care. Avoid like the plague.
