Thankyou so so much to all of the team at Dixon and young vets. We brought our dog blue in to be spayed last week and we can honestly say that all of you have been beyond fantastic with blue even though she was a bit nervous. When we brought her back to have her stitches out I explained to the lady on the reception that blue was nervous but that wasn’t a problem, a lovely lady came out and met us at the car and took her stitches out for us there. I would also like to say thank you for sorting out blues hernia for us too which we didn’t know you had done til her body suit came off today. You have saved us an extra trip to the vet to get this sorted and have saved the stress of another operation for blue to go through. Honestly we cannot Thankyou enough. Thanks again, Mr & Mr Burton-Halliday and a huge woof from blue :) :) xx - Ashley Burton-Halliday

Dixon and Young Veterinary Surgery Introduce

For pet owners in New Ollerton, Newark, and across the wider Nottinghamshire region of England, finding a veterinary practice that truly understands and cares for their animal companions is paramount. Dixon and Young Veterinary Surgery stands as a highly regarded independent practice, celebrated for its deeply compassionate approach, professional expertise, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of every animal that walks through its doors. This article will delve into what makes Dixon and Young a truly suitable and recommended choice for local pet owners, outlining their convenient location, comprehensive range of services, distinguishing features, and the exceptional experiences shared by their valued clients.

Dixon and Young Veterinary Surgery, established in January 2020 by partners Miss Janice Dixon BVetMed MRCVS and Miss Natasha Young BVetMed MRCVS, prides itself on being an independent small animal surgery. This independent status is a significant advantage, allowing the practice to operate with a focus entirely on patient and client needs, free from the constraints and directives that can sometimes accompany larger corporate veterinary chains. Their ethos is firmly rooted in being "down to earth, friendly, approachable, and above all reasonably priced and prepared to work with our clients to achieve the best individual approach for them and their pets." This commitment to a personalised and collaborative approach sets them apart in the local veterinary landscape.

The feedback from their clientele consistently highlights the practice's outstanding level of care and empathy. One particularly heartfelt review from Mr & Mrs Burton-Halliday illustrates this perfectly: "Thankyou so so much to all of the team at Dixon and Young vets. I would also like to say thank you for sorting out Blue’s hernia for us too which we didn’t know you had done ‘til her body suit came off today. You have saved us an extra trip to the vet to get this sorted and have saved the stress of another operation for Blue to go through. Honestly we cannot Thankyou enough." This extensive testimonial showcases the team's ability to handle nervous pets with incredible patience and to go above and beyond, even performing an additional, unbilled procedure (the hernia repair) to prevent future stress and cost for the owners.

Another client with two rescue dogs, both undergoing socialisation, lauded the team: "Everyone at the vets supported my dogs needs and their personalities. Both dogs willing went, at ease, with the vet for their treatment. All credit to the experienced and compassionate, professional staff that work at Dixon and Young. Thank you!" This highlights their skill in managing anxious or challenging animals, fostering trust, and ensuring a positive experience for even the most sensitive pets. Furthermore, a review praising "Janice and her team" for the swift and effective treatment of a pet rat with a chest infection, alongside a dental procedure, demonstrates their expertise across a variety of species and their ability to quickly identify and treat complex issues. These reviews collectively paint a picture of a truly dedicated and highly competent veterinary team.

Dixon and Young Veterinary Surgery is conveniently located at the Former Police Houses, New Ollerton, Newark NG22 9QZ, UK. New Ollerton is a village and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, making the practice highly accessible for residents within New Ollerton itself, as well as the wider Newark and Mansfield areas and surrounding villages. The location at the "Former Police Houses" on Forest Road (which seems to be the official address according to RCVS and their website) indicates a well-established and recognisable landmark within the community, making the practice easy to find for those travelling by car.

Accessibility is a key advantage for this surgery. As an independent practice, they are likely to have considered the ease of access for their clients and their pets.
