Byre Veterinary Surgery Reviews
Sarah Pellett (the exotics specialist) has been absolutely fantastic in caring for Marlowe, our African Pygmy Hedgehog. After our local vet were unable to treat her symptoms (blood in wee), a referral was made to Sarah at Byre Vets for further investigation. Immediately, the problem was identified (uterine tumours) and she was scheduled for surgery. Having lost a hedgehog under anaesthetic before I was terrified, but Sarah was brilliant at putting my mind at ease and really took her time explaining everything and all the risks. Surgery was successful but not without its complications (no fault of the vet team, but rather the severity of the tumours). Marlowe recovered fairly well in the first 24 hours but then quickly went downhill and was later hospitalised with Sarah at Byre Vets for 48 hours. Sarah went above and beyond, regularly updating me and coming in on her free time to care for her. Sarah’s dedication saved my girls life and we are now in a much better position than we were at the start of the week. We are not completely out of the woods yet but I am forever grateful for the care and attention Sarah has provided for Marlowe. I cannot thank you enough!
Jun 13, 2025 · Cara WallaceAttended as an emergency case with my tom cat. Good to find with lots of parking. Lovely building. Staff efficient and welcoming. Saw a lovely vet who did a thorough inspection of my tom and talked us through the information we needed to know. If I had an animal emergency near or in Peterborough I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Jun 28, 2025 · Samantha PenniallI took a dog in from the kennels I work at in an emergency today. I have to say I was seen immediately and the vet I saw was wonderful, efficient, thorough and very compassionate. Have to say highly impressed by the practice and eternally thankful for their help today.
Jul 13, 2025 · Joanna BanksSarah the reptile specialist has always been amazing with all my animals, but one in particular that needed a major operation. She was amazing and fully co-operative through the before op check health check up. She is one amazing vet and would trust her with any of my animals. He’s now made a full recovery
Jul 01, 2025 · Ryan J CoxLast night we had to say goodbye to one of our own, Toby. It was a traumatic time for my wife and I. Toby has been part of our family for 14 years but the time was right. The team at Byre were AMAZING. We were cared for in the most respectful way and Toby passed peacefully in his bed. We would never use a different veterinary practice!!!
