Mellows Cattery Reviews
We have been customers of Mellows for a number of years now. We lost our previous cat last year at the age of 18. She had been holidaying here frequently and always settled well. We took our new arrival for the first time this week. As a rescue cat, I was really worried how she would get on being in a cattery again. I needn't have worried. Mark and Nicky spent time with her and made sure that she settled in fine. Gave her lots of cuddles and attention and made sure that she was happy. The cattery is nice and clean and quiet. Perfect holiday home from home. Would definitely recommend.
May 26, 2023 · Rachel SOur Siamese Cat was booked in for a stay at Mellows Cattery. We visited beforehand and advised the owners that our Siamese could at times be a bit vocal (Siamese cats do like to chatter) and was assured our Cat would be well looked after and fussed throughout his stay.Day 1 we were at a Wedding party 50 miles away and were going straight on to our holiday the next morning. However, whilst at the Wedding Mellows Cattery called us and quite aggressively told us to fetch our Cat as he was meowing too loudly and was no longer welcomed to stay there..!! We couldn't believe it. This was a Cat. Meowing in a Cattery!! and we were being told to immediately fetch our Cat despite us being 50 miles away at a Wedding party. We were spoken to in an awful manner. The owner was rude, hostile, aggressive and demanding. We had to drive all the way back to Lincolnshire to fetch our Cat (who by the way was peacefully quiet when we arrived) Needless to say we took our Cat and did not pay this Cattery for the few hours stay he had there and I found the attitude of the owners quite unprofessional and disgusting. I would never ever recommend anyone taking their cat to Mellows and it just goes to show that 'clean and well presented' doesn't actually account for anything with regards to care and experience within the field they advertise to be expert's in. When trying to leave a review on their Website and Facebook page my comments were immediately removed by Mellows Cattery which again I find rather unprofessional as this does not give a true opinion for other potential borders to base their judgement and decisions on. Fortunately our regular Cattery bless their hearts made a space for our Cat to stay with them despite being full which was the only reason we had to look elsewhere in the beginning. Shocking Cattery.
Oct 25, 2021 · Sallyanne WithersIts a bit like a dirty shed in the back garden there was rubbish everywhere. Place had a weird feel to it. Our cat was very needy and clingy when she got back which wasnt normal suggesting not much attention or interaction while there.
Jul 27, 2022 · Justine DayYou know when your cats have been looked after when they are relaxing when you go to collect them, as mine have been on all stays to here (and I have 4 cats). I thoroughly recommend Mellows, thank you
Dec 17, 2019 · Sarah BolamJust something about the place didn't feel right to me, maybe the odd quizzical look when we went to get our cat and the owner seemed a bit off. It's a business and maybe be a little more professional, but otherwise fine, I'm not going to be too damning.
