Vets for Pets - Scunthorpe Reviews
Our story is too long to write here but cliff notes version. We initially had a brilliant experience here after moving to the area. However after approx a yea we had a terrible experience from the moment a new vet opened the door to her consultant room. The appointment was traumatic not just for us but for our dog. We came out and straight away asked for the complaint procedure the receptionist was lovely and helped. We began the complaints procedure which was not a fair and honest procedure. Firstly for the centre manager to handle the complaint she was not impartial in the slightest because 'the vet currently looked after her animals and she'd never had any of the problems we experienced'. I doubt the vet is going to provide a bad service to the manager of the clinic.Because of the lack of an impartial reviewer we escalated this. And whilst Vets for Pets clearly have a defined policy for complaints they continued to not comply. With many of the timeframes they set veig ignored and us having to chase for responses. This vets only wants to handle small animals like cats and rabbits and tiny dogs. If you have a decent size dog this is not the vet for you. We've since moved elsewhere and the experience is night and day different.Whilst disappointed in the vet/appointment it was far worse to learn that a complaints policy that you thought would be impartial, fair and transparent was anything but.
Jun 07, 2025 · Katie BThe receptionist was extremely unprofessional, providing my dog with the wrong medication and refusing to correct the mistake, despite her being on the same medication for several years. When I requested to escalate the issue as a complaint, they outright refused. Their behavior was rude, dismissive, and condescending—absolutely would not recommend.
Apr 02, 2025 · R BThe first vet gave us false hope on Friday when we took our poorly dog to vets4pets. On benefits so can't afford the £1000 operation. The second vet was a bit better than the first, but as the dog was bleeding on the table did absolutely nothing. Seems like if you have money then they will do anything for you. If you don't, then they are not interested. Thought vets were meant to care for animals. I really wouldn't recommend them. Vets4pets more like vets4profit.
Sep 18, 2024 · Chris MackieThe time taken to make sure I understood everything and reassurance given. How beautifully the nurse responded to my dog, so she happily went off with the nurse. I really appreciate never feeling rushed, which is really excellent when surgery is involved and a bit of anxiety felt by me. Also the follow up phone calls really appreciated too. Makes me feel reassured that the team are still involved and interested in my dogs welfare
Apr 30, 2022 · Christine ToumiRegistration and booking of the appointment was speedy and professional. Great communication skills. We were greeted in a friendly manner by the reception staff and they engaged us in a conversation. Very friendly and approachable. The vet was fantastic, very chatty and professional. Would highly recommend.
