The Visiting Vet Company Introduce
Welcome to a new era of veterinary care in England, where the well-being of your beloved pets takes centre stage, right in the comfort of your own home. The Visiting Vet Company, an independent mobile veterinary practice, is revolutionising how pet owners in Leeds, Harrogate, Ilkley, Wetherby, and surrounding areas access professional and compassionate animal healthcare. They understand that for many pets and their owners, a trip to a traditional vet clinic can be a source of significant stress and anxiety. This innovative approach ensures that your furry, feathered, or scaled companions receive the highest standard of care in a familiar and relaxed environment, reducing apprehension for everyone involved.
The philosophy behind The Visiting Vet Company is rooted in providing a truly personal and continuity-focused service. This means less stress for your pet and a more convenient, tailored experience for you. With an emphasis on preventative medicine and managing long-term health conditions, they aim to keep your pets healthy and happy throughout their lives, fostering a strong, trusting relationship between your family, your pet, and their veterinary surgeon.
The Visiting Vet Company operates as a mobile veterinary service, primarily serving pet owners directly at their homes across a wide geographical area. While their registered office is located at Woodgate Ln, Leeds LS17 0AP, UK, this address serves as their administrative base rather than a traditional clinic for appointments. The very essence of their service is accessibility by bringing veterinary expertise to you.
They cover a significant region, including Harrogate, North Leeds, Ilkley, Wetherby, and numerous surrounding areas. To minimise mileage and environmental impact, The Visiting Vet Company encourages bookings in Ilkley, Otley, and North Leeds on Mondays, and Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby, and surrounds on Thursdays. However, they are committed to working with pet owners to find mutually convenient times that suit their schedules, even outside these suggested days. This mobile model eliminates the need for stressful car journeys for your pet and allows for appointments to be seamlessly integrated into your daily routine.
Their commitment to accessibility extends to special circumstances, such as end-of-life care appointments, where they go above and beyond to accommodate families across West Yorkshire, ensuring pets can spend their final moments peacefully in their most cherished environment.
The Visiting Vet Company provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services, all delivered with care and professionalism in your home. Their offerings are designed to cover most of the routine and many non-routine needs your pet might have, aiming to replicate the quality of care you would expect from a traditional clinic, but with added comfort and convenience.
Routine Consultations: General health checks, examinations, and professional advice on pet wellness.
Vaccinations: Essential immunisations to protect your pet against common diseases, administered in a calm setting.
Preventative Treatments: Flea, tick, and worming treatments, along with guidance on ongoing parasite control.
Treatment of Common Ailments: Diagnosis and treatment for various non-emergency health issues and minor illnesses.
Senior Pet Health Checks: Tailored examinations and management plans for older pets, focusing on quality of life and age-related conditions.
Repeat Prescriptions: Convenient ordering and delivery of ongoing medications for chronic conditions, with regular re-examinations as required.
Microchipping: Permanent identification for your pet, essential for their safety and for complying with legal requirements.
End-of-Life Care and Home Euthanasia: Compassionate and dignified support for pets and their families during difficult times, allowing pets to pass peacefully in their familiar surroundings. This highly valued service is often accompanied by a quality of life consultation to help guide owners through this sensitive decision.
Blood Tests and Basic Diagnostics: Collection of samples for laboratory analysis to aid in diagnosis and monitoring of health conditions.
Nutritional Advice: Expert guidance on diet and feeding plans to support your pet's overall health and manage specific conditions.
What truly sets The Visiting Vet Company apart are its distinctive features, designed to provide a superior and less stressful experience for both pets and their owners.
At-Home Convenience: The primary and most significant feature is the provision of veterinary services directly to your home. This eliminates the stress of travel, crowded waiting rooms, and unfamiliar environments for your pet, leading to calmer examinations and more accurate assessments.
Personalised and Continuous Care: The mobile nature allows for a more personal approach, fostering a strong bond between the vet, the pet, and the owner. This continuity of care enables a deeper understanding of your pet's history, temperament, and ongoing needs.
Compassionate End-of-Life Support: As highlighted by numerous testimonials, their home euthanasia service is deeply appreciated. It offers a dignified and peaceful farewell for pets in their most cherished space, surrounded by loved ones, making an incredibly difficult time a little easier.
Experienced Veterinary Surgeon: The service is led by an experienced veterinary surgeon, Jessica May, who brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to every consultation. Customer reviews consistently praise her understanding, patience, and gentle manner.
Reduced Stress for Anxious Pets: For pets that become highly anxious or aggressive in a clinic setting, a home visit can be a game-changer, enabling necessary examinations and treatments that might otherwise be impossible.
Covid-Secure Practices: They implement thorough Covid-secure protocols for all home visits, including mask-wearing and, where possible, conducting consultations outdoors or in well-ventilated indoor areas, ensuring safety for all.
Environmental Responsibility: The company actively encourages clustered bookings in specific areas on certain days (e.g., Mondays for Ilkley/Otley/North Leeds, Thursdays for Harrogate/Knaresborough/Wetherby) to minimise travel and reduce their carbon footprint.
Focus on Preventative Medicine: Beyond treating illnesses, The Visiting Vet Company strongly advocates for preventative healthcare, working with owners to develop tailored plans that keep pets healthy and proactively address potential issues.

The Visiting Vet Company Reviews
I highly recommend Jess. When we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog Dexter I knew there was no way we could take him to the vets knowing we wouldn’t be bringing him back home. So a home euthanasia is what we wanted. I made absolutely the right choice in Jess, she was so understanding, caring and patient. We spent our last moments with Dexter in our home with him on his favourite place on the sofa. I will be forever grateful to Jess for making the most difficult time a whole lot easier and dignified for all of us.
Jun 01, 2025 · Vanessa AmblerI was so happy to find Jess as a visiting vet to care for our two elderly cats at home. She and Lynne are so kind, gentle, thorough and professional. It is so reassuring to have them coming to the house rather than stressing our cats with travel. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Jun 02, 2025 · Jo HartleyI highly recommend Jess—her service is outstanding, delivered with genuine compassion and care. We turned to her for at-home euthanasia for our elderly cat, and being able to say goodbye in the comfort and privacy of our home made a difficult moment much more peaceful. Jess now also cares for our dog, and it’s incredibly convenient not having to make trips to a clinic.
Jun 01, 2025 · Karina FagrasJess is an amazing vet. Always available, very kind to our pets and genuinely has a great treatment plan whenever we need anything. Last year one of our cats sadly had to be euthanised. Jess was able to do this at our house in a very low key manner. Our cat, Batty didn’t even know about it. Jess has such a lovely way with animals. She comes highly recommended.
Jun 01, 2025 · Alex RaistrickWe would highly recommend Jess to anybody who is in the very difficult situation of having to have their pet put to sleep. Our much loved very elderly dog Ruby didn’t have to suffer the stress of going to a veterinary clinic - we were able to cuddle her in the sunshine in our garden as she passed. Jess was utterly patient and kind we felt in no way rushed about anything. Her professionalism, empathy and consideration made a very distressing event so much more peaceful and calm - despite our great loss it was a lovely way for Ruby to leave us. Thank you Jess
