Calder Vets in Dewsbury Reviews
After moving from Manchester over a year ago now, we left behind a vets that we loved and after trying a few places in Huddersfield, I was beginning to lose hope of finding a place we liked. We came across Calder Vets as they offered the same course of injections my dog is used to having and are very happy with the service.Three weeks ago my dog had an injury and ruptured his cruciate ligament and having to visit a few of the branches due to getting him seen faster and then his surgical consultation finally at Dewsbury. I can confidently say that I have not had a bad experience at any of the three branches we have visited. The staff have all been lovely, welcoming and very thorough. My little dog had his op yesterday and we're finally on the road to recovery. Thank you very much Calder Vets.
Jul 10, 2025 · L EOHAfter being a customer of Calder vets Mirfield for more than 2 yrs I can honestly say the staff are excellent but the company and its policies suck.I brought my pregnant Maine coon to these vets for a check up, the vet they had working that shift was a substitute vet brought in who was actually quite rude and practically abused my cat then tried to belittle me in front of other customers … so !!After my cat gave birth i thought im not taking my cats to this vets anymore I’m going to try another vets but when this new vet asked for my cats details etc, Calder vets rang me up to ask what’s going on and why have I cancelled my vet plans so when I told them why, the lady on the other end of the phone proceeded to tell me yea they’ve had a number of complaints going in about this vet and that she wouldn’t be working for them again then asked me if I’d come back to which I said no sorry too late then I’m told well you’re going to have to pay extra for policies you’ve cancelled!!So my cat gets abused, I get belittled and I’ve gotta pay extra for pleasure !!!This company which is exactly what it is A COMPANY really doesn’t care about your animals it cares more about money first and foremost, ok the staff are good but when you’re told your cats heavy pregnant with at least 7 kittens and by the looks of things she could go through a hard labour if need be, it could mean an emergency cesarian and it’ll cost at least £2000 and we’re not going to touch her before you pay us £2000!!! You start to wonder if your animal is in safe hands or not !!!I really would try else where before taking your babies to Calder vets, sorry for this poor review but after you’ve sent this added on amount of money you say I owe to a debt collection agency I feel you’ve left me no choice but to vent my frustration.
Feb 28, 2025 · Roy WilliamsMy boy springer Ziggy was quickly diagnosed with a ruptured Crutiate Ligament in his hind leg by Calder Veterinary Surgeon's, he had a operation to put his leg right which was dealt with very quickly and as a consequence has led to a full recovery he is now getting back to normal which means everything to us we can't thank everyone at Calder vets enough you all know who you are we think you are amazing. Many thanksMark Tracy and Erin
Mar 17, 2025 · Mark Rothwell-WoodAppointments are usually running on time and we have managed to get emergency appointments easily in the past. All staff are wonderful, very friendly and understanding. Detailed notes are taken during appointments of pet's symptoms and medical conditions are explained well by the vets. The vets seem very experienced and have handled and treated my (somewhat difficult) pets well, and I can trust that they are giving me the best options when it comes to treatments.
Jan 03, 2025 · Maryam KarimSent there to pick up a prescription as my normal vet did not have insulin in stock. Charged 40% more than I would have paid at my normal vets. First and last time visiting.
