The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm Introduce
For cat owners across England, the thought of leaving a beloved feline companion when going on holiday or away for work can often be a source of anxiety. The key to a stress-free departure lies in finding a reputable and caring facility that prioritises the well-being and comfort of your cat. In the picturesque landscape of Lancashire, specifically in the charming village of Warton near Carnforth, The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm emerges as an outstanding choice for feline accommodation. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview for local users in England, highlighting why this establishment is a suitable and highly recommended option for your cat's holiday care, drawing upon its features and the positive experiences of past clients.
It鈥檚 important to clarify that while this establishment is listed under "veterinary care" in the prompt, The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm is primarily a dedicated boarding facility for cats, not a veterinary clinic providing medical treatment to the general public. However, the 'care' aspect is central to their operation, focusing on the welfare, comfort, and safety of cats during their stay. This includes ensuring a clean environment, providing appropriate nutrition, and maintaining a watchful eye over each cat's health. Any medical needs a cat might have, such as administering prescribed medications, would be managed in strict accordance with veterinary instructions. Their service essentially provides a safe, comfortable, and stimulating 'home away from home' for cats, giving owners peace of mind that their pets are well-looked after in their absence. The level of care provided by a top-tier cattery like this is an extension of responsible pet ownership, complementing, but not replacing, the services of a veterinary practice.
The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm is ideally located at Cotestones Farm, Sand Ln, Warton, Carnforth LA5 9NH, UK. This idyllic rural setting in Warton, a village close to Carnforth, offers a tranquil and secure environment for feline guests. Being situated on a farm often implies ample space and a peaceful atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of urban areas, which can be beneficial for less gregarious animals like cats.
Accessibility to the cattery is generally good for those travelling by car, which is the most common mode of transport for dropping off and collecting pets. Warton is well-connected to the A6 road, providing easy access from nearby towns such as Carnforth, Kendal, Lancaster, and Morecambe. For those coming from further afield within Lancashire and Cumbria, the M6 motorway is also conveniently accessible, making the journey straightforward. While specific public transport options directly to Cotestones Farm might be limited due to its rural setting, the ease of driving to the location makes it highly practical for most pet owners. The serene surroundings contribute to a calm environment, helping cats settle in more comfortably. One review also mentions "A lovely quiet CL in a great location," suggesting the broader farm environment is pleasant and accessible for various purposes, further cementing the appeal of the location.
The services offered by The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm are tailored specifically to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of cats during their boarding period:
- Individual Accommodation: Providing separate, secure, and spacious pens for each cat or feline family, ensuring privacy and reducing stress. As one review notes, they offer "Good sized pens with views," allowing cats to observe their surroundings comfortably.
- Climate-Controlled Environment: Maintaining comfortable temperatures within the cattery, ensuring cats are warm in winter and cool in summer, contributing to their overall comfort.
- Tailored Feeding Regimes: Adhering to the cat's usual diet and feeding schedule, with owners providing their preferred food to minimise digestive upset and maintain familiarity. Fresh water is always available.
- Regular Cleaning and Hygiene: Maintaining impeccable cleanliness within each pen and throughout the cattery to ensure a hygienic and healthy environment for all guests.
- Daily Health Checks: Staff members conduct regular visual health checks on all cats to quickly identify any changes in behaviour, appetite, or physical condition that might indicate a health issue.
- Medication Administration: Administering prescribed medications according to owner instructions, provided the cat is cooperative and the medication is within the cattery's capabilities to manage.
- Enrichment and Interaction: Providing opportunities for play and interaction with staff, ensuring cats receive mental stimulation and affection during their stay.
- Regular Updates for Owners: Keeping owners informed about their cat's well-being, often through photo and video updates. As a client enthusiastically shared, "I got regular WhatsApp updates with photos while I was on holiday," which offers invaluable peace of mind.
- Veterinary Liaison: In the event of a cat requiring veterinary attention, the cattery would liaise with their registered veterinary practice or the owner's own vet, ensuring prompt and appropriate medical care.
The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm stands out due to several key features and highlights that make it a preferred choice for cat owners:
- High Standard of Care: A consistent commitment to providing excellent care, ensuring each cat feels secure, comfortable, and well-attended to during their time away from home.
- Peace of Mind for Owners: The provision of "regular WhatsApp updates with photos" is a significant highlight, greatly alleviating owner anxiety and allowing them to enjoy their holiday knowing their cat is happy and well.
- Spacious and Comfortable Pens: The "Good sized pens with views" create a more enriching and less stressful environment for cats, allowing them space to move, stretch, and observe their surroundings.
- Tranquil Rural Setting: Located on a farm in Warton, the quiet and natural environment contributes to a calm atmosphere, which is beneficial for feline guests.
- Positive Customer Feedback: The enthusiastic "Fantastic cattery" review, coupled with the "highly recommend" from another client (even if about a CL, it speaks to the overall location's quality), strongly indicates high customer satisfaction.
- Dedicated Feline Focus: Being a cattery exclusively for cats means the environment is tailored specifically to their needs, without the potential stresses associated with other types of animals.
- Attentive and Caring Staff: Implicit in the positive reviews is a team that is attentive, caring, and capable of fostering a comfortable environment for the cats.

The Cattery @ Cotestones Farm Reviews
Fantastic cattery, my cat was there nearly three weeks and I got regular WhatsApp updates with photos while I was on holiday. Good sized pens with views. Really recommend.

Mar 04, 2025 路 MinnieBooking is easy, all automated with payment online prior to arrival. No personal contact at anytime during our stay. The site is easy to access. The hardstanding pitches are good, each with EHU and water tap. The tap is situated only a few inches from the ground so a hose is needed to fill water barrels. The pitches are under trees so noisy drips onto roof during rain. And we had plenty of it! Also full of Crows, that were even more noisy! As it is a working cattle farm there are permanent cattle odours. Along with all day and night farming noise. The grass around the pitches were in desperate need of cutting, so long that the grass was always wet. The centre area, with no pitches, was cut once during our week long stay, but was still left long and grass cuttings The shower toilet block has one toilet, one sink and one shower. The shower required a 拢1 coin to operate for 10 minutes. Not a bad site, but for the above reasons I cannot recommend
Jul 07, 2025 路 Christopher HardyThis camp site matched the description perfectly. A small site with 6 pitches, all with electric and water. Toilet, basin and shower in the farmhouse for the use of campers.Set in a beautiful area, minutes from Warton Sands and views across to Morecambe.
Aug 07, 2024 路 Angela MartlandSorry but 5 star not for the cattery!! But for the caravan CL site that is also there. We spent 3 nights on this very peaceful well kept site. Just hope this review does not fill the site for my next visit. A credit to the owners.
