I took my dog Archie to Bridge Vets Stranton,he was suffering from Diarrhoea he had a blood test and he went to Middlesbrough for a Ultrasound Scan,I was told he had a Adenocarcinoma cancer of the intestines,I was given 3 choices, take him to Wear Referals,do nothing and put him on steroids but he would eventually Die within 10 months or they could give him an operation to try and remove the mass, but it would cost £3000,we decided Archie needed the chance to live longer so we went with the operation. What we weren’t told was that there was a chance that Archie could(would) develop an infection that could kill him in hours,he should have been kept in Middlesbrough for 24 hours after the operation for observation because of the risk of infection. He was released 7 hours later in a comatosed,I was told he would be like that for 48 hours. The next day we rang Middlesbrough because we were worried he was drinking vast amounts of water and bringing it back up,they said he could be like that for 48 hours. My Archie didn’t live 48 hours,he died 36 hours after the Operation.apart from the Diarrhoea Archie showed no symptoms of Cancer. He was living his best life and was full of energy,we wish we had gone for the steroids and upto to 10 months with him.We sent a complaint to Bridge Vets and were sent a Fabricated disgusting email back making out his symptoms sound worse than they actually were to cover there backs. Please use our experience as a guide to your choice of treatment for your beloved pet and please ask lots of questions. - Susan Jackson
