These services are delivered with a keen understanding of animal behaviour and health, ensuring a high standard of care.
Dog Boarding (Kennels): Providing spacious, clean, and secure kennels for dogs of all sizes and breeds. The facility ensures that dogs receive regular exercise, playtime, and individual attention. Each kennel is designed to offer comfort and safety, with appropriate bedding and access to fresh water at all times. The staff are experienced in handling a variety of dog temperaments and energy levels.
Cat Boarding (Cattery): Offering a tranquil and secure environment for cats. The cattery provides individual pens that are clean, warm, and equipped with scratching posts and elevated resting areas, catering to cats' natural instincts for climbing and observing. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a stress-free environment, crucial for feline well-being.
Medication Administration: For pets requiring ongoing medication, the experienced staff are capable of administering prescribed medications according to owner instructions and veterinary advice. This crucial service ensures that pets with chronic conditions or those recovering from illnesses continue to receive their necessary treatment while boarding.
Special Dietary Needs Accommodation: Owners can provide their pet's specific diet, and the staff will adhere to feeding schedules and dietary requirements. This is particularly important for pets with sensitivities, allergies, or those on veterinary-prescribed diets, ensuring their health is maintained.
Regular Exercise and Playtime: Dogs benefit from scheduled walks and supervised playtime in secure outdoor areas. This ensures they remain active and mentally stimulated during their stay, contributing to their overall happiness and reducing stress.
Health Monitoring: While not providing direct veterinary treatment, the staff are trained to closely monitor the health and behaviour of all boarded animals. Any signs of illness, distress, or unusual behaviour are promptly noted, and if necessary, communicated to the owner and local veterinary professionals for immediate attention.
Grooming (Basic): While not a full grooming salon, the facility ensures pets are kept clean and comfortable during their stay, which can include basic hygiene checks and tidying.
Champion Boarding Kennels & Cattery distinguishes itself through several key features that contribute to its high reputation and the satisfaction of both pets and their owners. These highlights underscore their commitment to providing superior care.
Exceptional Cleanliness and Hygiene: As highlighted by customer reviews, the facility maintains an impressively high standard of cleanliness. Their dedication translates into a warm and welcoming atmosphere where pets feel secure and cared for. This personal touch is often cited by returning customers as a primary reason for their continued loyalty.
Positive Pet Response: One of the most telling signs of a good boarding facility is how pets react to it. Customer testimonials reveal that dogs, like "Poppy," get "excited when we arrive," indicating a positive association with the kennels. This suggests a stimulating and comfortable environment that pets genuinely enjoy.
Focus on Pet Happiness and Health: Reviews consistently mention that pets are "happy and healthy when we collect them." This outcome is the direct result of the facility's commitment to regular exercise, proper nutrition, individual attention, and diligent health monitoring, all contributing to the animals' overall well-being.

Champion Boarding Kennels & Cattery Reviews
Thank you so much for looking after our two “kids”. They obviously enjoyed their stay with you both and it’s the first time ever they’ve come home from kennels not stinking and needing a bath. They’ll certainly be coming back for another lovely jolly holiday.
Sep 28, 2024 · Sally BarnesWe have been taking our dog and our cats to Champion for 5 years now several times a year. Poppy our dog gets excited when we arrive and all are happy and healthy when we collect them. David and Rita are a really friendly hardworking couple and l would recommend the clean friendly and well run business to anyone. I honestly think the previous negative review was for somewhere else!
Sep 22, 2019 · Michael CarpenterMy 2 cats (14 years old & 3 years old) go to champions every year for a fortnight. They come home happy healthy and in fabulous condition. My 3 year olds dietary needs were extremely well managed (they wanted to keep her).Highly recommended !! 5* !!
Sep 11, 2016 · Emma PearsonMy dogs don't usually stay here and they certainly won't be staying again. The place stinks of urine, they stayed for three nights and came back timid and unhappy! This is so out of character for my dogs, scared of almost everything and most bizarrely scared at feeding time, it concerns me to think what they have experienced!!!If my usual kennles are full I wont be going away. Avoid this place!!!
Aug 20, 2019 · Daniel BrownWe have been taking my dogs and cat to Champion for over 20 years. Rita and David really look after them and we have no hesitation in taking them to Champion Kennels or recommending it.
