Its location on Collington Way in West Bridgford offers good accessibility, likely with convenient parking, making it a practical choice for pet owners travelling to the clinic for their animal's care.
One notable feature that stands out from customer feedback is the practice's apparent commitment to a "calm, fear-free approach" when handling nervous or potentially aggressive animals. This technique, as highlighted by a positive experience with Jenny and her team, can significantly reduce stress for both pets and their owners during veterinary visits, particularly for procedures like injections. This compassionate approach to animal handling is a valuable asset for any veterinary practice, showing an understanding of animal behaviour and welfare.
However, it is also important for prospective clients to consider all aspects of a veterinary practice's operation, including their policies on treatment options, communication regarding costs, and handling of complex or sensitive cases. While the positive experience with a nervous dog showcases a particular strength in animal handling, the contrasting review regarding the care of a stray cat points to the critical importance of clear and empathetic communication about treatment plans, financial implications, and available alternatives. This serves as a reminder that transparency and client consent are paramount in veterinary care, especially in challenging situations.
For locals, Rushcliffe Veterinary Centre offers a conveniently located facility with a demonstrated ability to handle anxious pets with care. It is advisable for pet owners, especially those with specific concerns or complex cases, to have detailed discussions with the clinic regarding their protocols, treatment philosophies, and pricing structures to ensure alignment with their expectations and needs for their beloved companions. Ultimately, choosing a vet is a deeply personal decision, and understanding all facets of a practice's service is key.

Rushcliffe Veterinary Centre - West Bridgford Reviews
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jenny and the other vet who helped Captain today. My dog can be very nervous and sometimes becomes aggressive when he feels forced into something, so handling him especially for injections is never easy. But Jenny did an absolutely fantastic job. She used a calm, fear-free approach that made a big difference and managed to give the injection smoothly and with care.
Jul 11, 2025 · Kathy WONGI am in shock, I have no words and I don't know what to do. Four days ago a cat came into the my house to eat my cat food. He was dirty and weak. I closed the door to see how I could help him. I fed him and kept him in the house. He was scared and nervous but he ate and hid. Overnight I saw that he had diarrhea. I gave him chicken and rice and he started to relax, the diarrhea wasn't so bad anymore. I started petting him and he didn't threaten me anymore. I came to this vet to ask for treatment for diarrhea, they said to bring him. Because he was wild and nervous they recommended a lady who deals with animal rescue. The lady came and together we took the cat to this vet. She was going to take care of him the next day. I told them I could pay for the treatment for the diarrhoea and take him in to look after him. They called me in the morning and said I had to pay £400 because they had to do a blood test. I said that was too much. They killed him shortly afterwards, this time without asking me. They didn't give him a chance, they didn't give him any treatment, they didn't try anything. They just killed him. He wasn't in any pain, he wasn't crying, he slept lying down and relaxed on his last night. If we paid £400, they would kill him afterwards or give him treatment. What kind of vet are you if you can only treat animale for money? If you couldn't do anything for him why you didn't give me back so I could take him to another vet? A simple blood test can't show that you have to kill him without trying anything. Hi wasn't in pain. Heartless people, you should be working în a morgue, not being vet.By the way, why did you ask me to pay £400? For what reason?.😪😪😪😪
Apr 12, 2025 · Marieta LebadaWhilst I can't fault the reception staff who have always been kind and accommodating, I have had two issues with the vets since I started at Rushcliffe.I have a high energy boxer puppy who was terrified of the vets and needles. When she initially went to get her top-up vaccinations, she was very excitable and the (man) vet made me (and the dog) feel like an absolute idiot. From the moment he arrived to greet her he was mean! Absolutely zero compassion whatsoever and made me feel like a terrible dog-mum.I had arranged another visit without a muzzle which I clarified on the phone with the vet several times. As soon as I got there, another (female) vet had exactly the same attitude - just cold, mean and totally lacking compassion. No apology provided for the miscommunication from THEIR end and just totally lacking in customer service.I have since changed vets to Medivet Sherwood who offered continued desensitisation visits and absolutely loved my dog visiting. Today she had her jabs with absolutely no issues whatsoever.
Jun 25, 2025 · Alicia TaylorTook my rats here and have been very happy with the service! Staff are absolutely lovely and so warm and welcoming and absolutely adored my rats and giving them some cuddles and love! We always feel like we get treated well and I cannot thank them enough for how much they went out of their way to help us today! They did something really kind for us and I just wanted to say how much I appreciated it, since I didn't get to at the time as I was a bit of a mess! Haha.
Mar 05, 2025 · Stephiie HartI changed to this vet when I moved house, and with moving house comes the complication of local un-neutered Toms to 'discuss' territory with my own cat, so I've visited a couple more times than I'd have liked to!I've only ever visited during covid times, both for routine jabs (one of which my cat had been getting annually at the last place, which Rushcliffe advised was only necessary every second year) and for a couple of 'war wounds'.All the staff are so friendly whilst being efficient, and I trust them completely to take care of Monty while I wait in the car park.Would recommend, and have done.
