This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Earlswood Veterinary, highlighting its commitment to providing exceptional veterinary care from the perspective of local users in Northern Ireland.
Earlswood Veterinary has a rich history, tracing its origins back to a small practice in Chichester Street, Belfast, in the late 19th Century, before moving to its current home on Belmont Road in 1970 and upgrading to a veterinary hospital. Over the decades, it has evolved from primarily handling horses and farm work to becoming a pure small animal practice, continuously developing to meet modern standards without losing its personal touch. Today, Earlswood Veterinary operates as both a first-opinion practice for everyday pet needs and a leading referral centre for more complex cases across Northern Ireland. Their dedication to providing the highest standard of patient and client care, treating every pet as their own, is consistently reflected in client feedback.

Earlswood Veterinary Reviews
I had to use Earlswood for my cat Bella when she became unwell, and my own vets were unsure what was going on. Unfortunately, her prognosis was poor, and she sadly didn't make it. All the staff from reception, vet nurses, and surgeons made my experience much less stressful. Even on her final day when i phoned to tell them my sad news they told me to focus on her rather than the money. They took time to know your pet, and even when I went in to settle the bill, they all still gave me condolences. Unfortunately, i had to use the out of hours vets who aren't aligned to Earlswood and I can say my experience with them was not positive or remotely caring and understanding (I will be providing feedback to that service separately).Earlswood is a private animal hospital, so yes, it is more expensive, but they know what they are doing. I wish the outcome could have been better for Bella, but the staff made that final few weeks less painful for her and that all that matters.
Jan 20, 2025 · Mel AddisHad to have my dog put down and Earlswood couldn't have been kinder during the whole process. Gave my family plenty of time with him to say goodbye and were very supportive throughout. I cannot remember the lady's name but she also was able to clear up any concerns I had by confirming health issues I suspected my dog had during his life. Great team, thanks very much.
Jul 01, 2025 · Cole MaginnThe acupuncture team are wonderful. Holisticpetni. (Elsa, Helen & Sarah) Gentle, caring and Luna actively likes to come for treatment.
Feb 22, 2025 · Nikki ElliottOutstanding care from all the vets and team at earlswood. Our little dog was unwell and they did everything they could, but she passed away peacefully. Thank you so much. Sleep well Betsy, you will be missed so so much.
Sep 27, 2024 · P LivingstoneThis wasn’t my usual vets but we were referred here for a CT Scan for my beloved retriever, Max. Sadly the results of the scan showed an inoperable tumour. Rachel was extremely good, sensitive and informative.Because of the extent of the tumour, the best thing for Max was to be out to sleep and we agreed to come back a couple of days later to allow us to have some final precious time with him.On the day, we were so thankful for Gabrielle. She was incredibly empathetic, caring and hit the right cord with us. We were all incredibly upset including my children and she took us through the whole process incredibly well. It was a privilege to be there with Max until the end.I want to thank all the staff who clearly understood how awful a time this was for us and who were so patient and understanding. We are all incredibly grateful.
