Operation K9 Canine Hydrotherapy Beverley specialises in providing professional and compassionate hydrotherapy services for dogs. Their offerings are tailored to address a wide range of canine health needs, focusing on rehabilitation, pain management, and overall well-being.
- Canine Hydrotherapy: This is the core service, utilising a heated pool or underwater treadmill to provide a non-weight-bearing exercise environment. This is ideal for dogs recovering from injuries, surgeries, or those suffering from conditions like arthritis, hip dysplasia, or cruciate ligament damage. The buoyancy of the water reduces stress on joints, while the warmth helps to relax muscles and reduce pain.
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Assisting dogs in their recovery journey after orthopaedic surgeries. Hydrotherapy can significantly speed up recovery times, improve muscle strength, and restore range of motion, often with less discomfort than land-based exercises.
- Arthritis Management: Providing a gentle yet effective way to manage the pain and stiffness associated with canine arthritis. Regular hydrotherapy sessions can improve joint flexibility, reduce inflammation, and enhance quality of life for older dogs or those with degenerative joint diseases.
- Cruciate Ligament Rehabilitation: A common issue in dogs, cruciate ligament injuries benefit greatly from controlled exercise in water, building strength in surrounding muscles without putting undue stress on the damaged ligament. Customer testimonials highlight successful outcomes for dogs with this specific issue.
- Luxating Patella Treatment: Tailored hydrotherapy programmes can help dogs with luxating patella by strengthening the muscles supporting the kneecap, as evidenced by customer feedback on dogs like Elsie.
- Weight Management: Hydrotherapy offers an excellent low-impact exercise option for overweight or obese dogs, helping them to shed pounds safely and improve cardiovascular health without excessive strain on their joints.
- Fitness and Conditioning: Beyond rehabilitation, Operation K9 also caters to active dogs or those requiring general fitness improvement, enhancing stamina, muscle tone, and overall athletic performance.
- Pain Relief: The therapeutic benefits of warm water and controlled movement contribute significantly to pain relief for dogs suffering from various musculoskeletal conditions.
- Experienced and Caring Team: Customer reviews consistently praise the "wonderful team" and their "brilliant and caring job." This highlights the professional yet compassionate approach taken by the staff, which is crucial for building trust with both pets and their owners.
- Individualised Treatment Plans: While not explicitly stated as a service, the success stories, such as Joe's journey with cruciate ligament damage and Elsie's progress with luxating patella, strongly suggest that treatment plans are highly individualised and adapted to each dog's specific needs and comfort level.
- Positive Impact on Timid Dogs: The testimonial about Elsie, a "really timid dog," who "absolutely loves the treadmill" and has "really come out of her shell" demonstrates the team's ability to work effectively with anxious animals, creating a positive and reassuring environment.
- Focus on Non-Invasive Solutions: The case of Joe, where hydrotherapy was chosen over surgery to avoid long-term restriction, showcases the centre's commitment to exploring and providing effective non-invasive treatment options where appropriate. Similarly, Elsie's progress aims to help her recover "without evasive surgery."
- Visible Improvement in Pet Health: Both testimonials clearly indicate significant and positive improvements in the dogs' mobility and well-being. Joe, at over 11 years old, has "wonderful movement," and Elsie has "really improved." This tangible evidence of success is a key highlight.
- Dedicated and Friendly Staff: Specific mentions of staff members like Fran and Izzy in the reviews reinforce the personalised and friendly service provided, making the experience more comfortable for both dog and owner.

Operation K9 Canine Hydrotherapy Beverley Reviews
Three years or so ago Joe (our beloved Cocker Spaniel) was struggling with movement due to cruciate ligament damage. Vet wanted to operate but admitted that would restrict him for about 12 months. Instead I elected to try hydrotherapy and YuMove. The difference has been amazing and although he is now over 11 years old he has wonderful movement. The wonderful team at Operation K9 have done a brilliant and caring job.
Apr 21, 2025 · David HamiltonElsie has been attending since November for luxating patella. She is only 19 months old so trying to help her recover without evasive surgery (low grade) and she’s absolutely loving it. She’s a really timid dog but they’ve really helped her come out of her shell and she absolutely loves the treadmill. Sessions have been with fran and Izzy at Beverley. Can’t fault them and Elsie has really improved.
Feb 04, 2025 · Sarah StarkI can't recommend Operation K9 highly enough. They have been incredible with Fletcher, for over 4yrs. He first went due to intermittent lameness, and it helped enormously. They advised me to get x-rays, which led to him having cruciate ligament surgery on both back legs, a year apart. Hydrotherapy massively helped his recovery. He is 10yrs old now, and showing no signs of slowing down, despite having arthritis. I put this down to fortnightly hydrotherapy! Thank you so much for keeping my boy going ❤️
