Vets for Pets - Newark Reviews
Really happy with the service today for my dog’s dental work. We have recently moved and it’s always a concern going somewhere new but from start to finish it was a good experience. I felt like my dog was treated well and her needs were understood (she’s a nervous nature) . Thank you so much everyone.
Jun 10, 2025 · Daisy MayI’ve never been to a corporate vet clinic before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Recently moved to the area and was sad to leave my previous vet.I was really impressed though, definitely had a 5-star experience!!Reception team was very helpful over the phone answering questions ahead of the appointment and getting us registered. The rates are really reasonable, IMO, and the clinic rooms are very clean and modern. The vet I saw was knowledgeable and easy to converse with. She was thorough and listened to our history and answered every question. I didn’t feel rushed or patronized. It was great!Came in for a routine exam on a senior canine to primarily renew arthritis meds and establish a patient file.Paid about £22 for a paper prescription for a 6 month script. Well worth it.The exam itself was £40.The company has a decent pet plan that adds pretty good value back for the patient. It’s also handy that I can do my pet food errands afterwards as my senior needs specialty food. Not sure how this place might be if facing challenging differentials or complex pathologies, but for routine care and maintenance definitely a great choice.Good job, vets for pets team!
May 09, 2025 · Claire BuchananRude and argumentative staff (Holly) who promises a call back but never does. Who would have guessed - as soon as I called, she was 'just about to do it' . Advises on the day of restocking flea and worm treatment for my cat that he needs to come in to be weighed, and no medication will be dispensed until then. As I work, like I assume a lot of their customers do, I cannot just 'pop in' as soon as they decide I need to, and therefore puts my pets medication on hold for at least 28 days. No mention of this practice was ever mentioned at the point of signing up, nor was anything mentioned when I picked up the last prescription. Blames being unable to provide the paid for medication on a managers decision, who, amazingly, cannot be contacted, and its 'up to them' if they contact me back or not - great customer service. Cancelled my plan, but still haven't received the terms and conditions she kept referring to - having checked the website, no term exists.
Dec 30, 2024 · James HagueI called on Saturday (22/06) to ask if they do MRI scan for dogs as I explained we not registered with them but our girl needed emergency scan. The lady that picked the phone up said they do but only working days. After not finding anyone local who could do MRI scan I called back to see if we could do on Monday. But her attitude shocked me, when she asked who are we registered and I said at the moment 2 she asked why? I explained that my dog needed to be seen ASAP and our original vets were closed, her response was “well you shouldn’t be registered with multiple vets at first point”. I am sorry but there is no law to say we cannot be and how does that change situation in general.. when I asked if we can do anything on Monday she said oh actually we have some surgeries on Monday so sorry we can’t help you with anything. I could feel that she is not willing to offer other dates and was very disappointed that people work in this type of place who has no empathy or willingness to help. We were already in stressed situation and her only concern was the we registered with multiple vets..so we just ended conversation. The reason for review is that people need to have sympathy or even if you cannot help don’t make unnecessary rude comments..
